is europe like a third world continent to you, markus? i dont think there are any countries over there like that. yeah, the east side of the iron curtain is still pretty rough, but not that bad. as someone who lived in europe for a short time, i think your far far off.
Again, I KNOW i'm going way too far with these comments, and am definitely not trying to start an argument...but...
It seems everyday there is a flag "over there" behind burnt because of some religious reason. And i'm not just talking the middle east, Eastern Europe has a lot of problems.
Think of it this way. 25 years ago, do you think anyone would have winced at a "eurotrash" comment? We are not that far removed from total hatred from those countries. They may be nice to visit...and granted I know not all of Europe is like this....but we are not that many years from totally hatred and war.
Sure we get a president that enjoys BJs, another redneck president that takes half his presidency as a vacation, etc....and it all makes us forget about the problems that other countries have because it's all eyes on us.
Don't get me started on the outsourcing of jobs...the new "global" economy which doesn't really work like that.
But just remember...this may be a sport...and life may seem like it's going to be peaceful forever, but we are less than 25 years removed from Total world ending war against some of these countries.
I am not a racist, of course I have euro decent in my blood (English, Italian and Irish) but I do not think one eurotrash comment is going to change the world.
Again, I know i'm going way too far with this. I just think some people need to think for a second before they conclude that all of these countries love us.
