Egh every owner says that to rile up their team. Chad Henne does have a chance to be the first great U Mich quarterback in the NFL though. John Navarre Drew Henson Tom Brady* Brian Griese Todd Collins Elvis Grbac Jim Harbaugh Ouch. *cheated. |

I'm still lost. I don't know squat about his college career so was he involved in some scandal or did he become un-naturally good for a year? |

Im a Dolphins fan, I can honestly say, hes never going to be better than Marino unless he brings multiple Super Bowls, but he by far the best option we've had since Marino retired |

I think the cheater thing is kind of funny, especially since millions of NFL fans will discredit Brady's and Belichick's entire bodies of work with the patriots because of it. I think the fact that the NFL was kind of cloak and dagger about the tapes and had them destroyed rather than releasing the contents to the public is suspicious at the least. In regards to Brady being the best of all time, I think that is a product of the media blowing his accomplishments way out of proportion. Brady was somewhat of a non-factor in his first Super Bowl run, much like Roethlisberger was in his beyond simply not making mistakes. People forget that it took one of the most retarded rules in the NFL rulebook (tuck rule), Drew Bledsoe winning the AFC Championship, two Kurt Warner interceptions, a Ricky Proehl fumble and Adam Vinatierri's foot for Brady to win his first Super Bowl. There is nothing you can use to measure quarterbacks that encompass a career as a whole where Brady will come out on top. (Granted Brady's career isn't over yet). Super Bowl Record? Montana is better. Playoff winning percentage? Jim Plunkett and Ben Roethlisberger surpass him. Playoff wins? Montana leads him and Bradshaw and Elway are tied with him. Super Bowl Appearances? Elway has five, and Montana also has four. Marino and Favre have better passing stats, Young was a better rusher and higher rated. Personally I feel that quarterbacks should be measured by their ability to elevate a team. In Tom Brady's absence, the patriots went 11-5 with a guy that hadn't started at quarterback since high school. That speaks to how good their system is at winning games, not to the skill of their quarterback. The year after Elway retired, the Broncos were 6-10. The year after Young did, the 49ers were 4-12. Steve Young and John Elway took some downright mediocre 49ers and Broncos teams deep into the playoffs, ditto Dan Marino with the Dolphins. Those quarterbacks didn't need the perfect line play that Brady gets to excel. |

since when has football been a one guy sport? you keep discrediting brady saying he was a non factor and all that garbage. the offensive line of the patriots was terrible for the first few years of bradys career. there was no "system." the system came about after the patroits realized, hey, we can build around this guy and win. brady has, year after year, put up not good, but great numbers. you dont do that if you are a pretty good quarterback. hell, he threw 50 touchdowns in one season. you dont go 3-1 in superbowls if you are "pretty good." brady found success, and has continued to be successful, no, actually excel for near a decade. really, all this is is a smoke screen so the rest of the division can sleep at night. |

Right, I said he was a great quarterback, but greatest ever is taking it too far given his body of work. |

his first super bowl win, he merely average and merely along for the ride, right? is that how he drove the from the 15 yard line to the rams 31 with 81 seconds left and no time outs, and thus being named superbowl MVP? thats clearly not the stuff legends are made of. |

So did Jim Kelly. And he made it the next three years as well. I never said Brady wasn't top ten, I just said to attach the moniker of greatest ever is ridiculous. |
