Anyone else following the coverage on where the host city is going to be? I'm pretty bummed that Chicago didn't get it...I definitely would have taken a trip to the Windy City to watch the Olympic games, plus I thought Chicago would be a great venue. I have to say that I think both the Obamas and Oprah going to Copenhagen to lobby for the city might have been the overkill. From an outside perspective people might have thought that Chicago was chosen just because it's Obama's hometown and maybe the IOC didn't want to give off the impression that they are all wrapped up in the "Obama mania". And maybe they didn't want Oprah to feel like she can do whatever she wants...including getting the Olympics to come to Chicago. Or maybe I'm just being too harsh on Oprah because I don't like her. I'm glad that Tokyo is out of the running since they've already had the Olympics there... Despite my Spanish roots, I hope Rio de Janeiro gets it. I wish Chicago would have gotten it though. |

Yeah I feel the same exact way...I mean it's understandable that Obama was there considering it is his hometown and he's our President, but Oprah needs to shut up and stop acting so entitled.  bad luck for Chicago, but Rio was the Favourit.i am still angry about SOCHI 2014 Salzburg --------> best., winterwonderland  they were better than Vanc. but okay that didnt hurt that much. i like Canada and they are Wintersport crazy too. but Russia , black sea WTF

Boa Rio! In my lifetime alone, the US has had Olympic games in Lake Placid, LA, Atlanta, and Salt Lake City. Canada has had 3 for that matter. Yet not a single Olympics in South America. Africa's next, but I think that's still decades off. |

Si, but I don't know if they can keep up with the ladies from Venezuela. I was there in '05 and I've never seen so many beautiful women. In fact the I saw less than 5 obese people there in my 1 week stay and they were men. |
