The Eagles got 9000 times more likable when McNabb left and Vick came in.

Not to mention, I want Vick to succeed.

Really sucks DeSean is hurt. Really, really sucks.

How the heck did James Jones drop that pass? Get out of the NFL.

David Akers was so good for me this season in fantasy. He is blowing hard tonight, though.

James Starks ran for 123 yards on 23 carries and had 9 receiving yards on 2 receptions. As we used to say in this town about our football, talkin' proud (kudos to TGR's Chris for originally tweeting it)

Wow, great win for Green Bay. Recievers have been dropping stupidly easy passes all season, but that should have been an early dagger.

For whatever reason, he reminds me a bit of Freddy.

Well, I'm happy that the Vick redemption tour is over now. Yeah he paid his price and yeah he's taken a LOT of over-zealous flak, but he's still a dirtbag regardless of the dog stuff. To be fair though, if we knew much about NFL players we'd think a lot of them are dirtbags. Anyway, I'm happy for Rodgers. In the same year that asshole Favre goes down in deserved shame, he might be able to rise up to prominance after having to waste good years sitting behind him. Besides, WTF do any Philly fans deserve besides heartbreaking disappointment anyway?!?

Not really fair to make sweeping generalizations about an entire fan base.

Unless it's their hockey team.

Hmmmm, the old Vets stadium roared in approval when Michael Irvin of Dallas went down with a neck injury and was carted off. They were the first stadium to install a court, judge, and jail to handle cases on the spot for all the criminality during football games. I suppose most in here are unfamiliar with the infamous booing and snow ball attack of Santa Claus back in 1968. Here's some more...

1960s Phillies fans threw batteries at their first black ball player during games.

Phillies fans brawled at their ring ceremony game. There was a fight that year in the parking lot where a fan was killed.

Flyers fans brawled with players and coaches of the Blues in 1972.

In the '40s Phillies fans had a 15 minute barrage of glass bottle throwing at the umps.

A slew of other incidents that are comparable to the relatively infrequent amount of incidents in other sports cities.

Where sports assholes of most cities keep it in check, the sports assholes in Philly simply get off on their reputation and act out to keep the rep going. That rep is deserved.

In 1918 (I think) in Ty Cobb's first return to Philly after spiking their third baseman, Frank "Home Run" Baker a foul fly ball carried Cobb into a crowd of fans that were restrained only by a rope partition. No one touched him.
