 Yes. And when I have an ellipsis. And when you make a post in GDTs without capitalization or punctuation.

Do people realize that if they set things on Facebook so that friends of friends can see them, tens of thousands of people, for some well over a hundred thousand I'm sure, can see everything?

I don't even understand why that's an option. Like just the wording of it..."friends of friends". They might as well just have a "public" option or something.

When did I say "and such" a million times? haha

I'm curious now.

Also two students from my former High School passed away this morning. I knew both of them from band and was friends with the guy and his younger brother. It's been such a fucked up two weeks at that school.

The Former Band Director gets arrested for sexual exploitation, a kid shots himself, and two drown in an accident.

Last night we had torrential rainfall which caused many of the rivers and creeks to overfill. They will be missed, two of the nicest people out there gone. And they were going to have a kid on the way also.

I like the familial feel of this board, but I fear that it may be (or may become) a bit cliquey and a bit daunting to outsiders to break into "the big group."

i feel your right. however that happens with every consistent gathering of people.

the new people will have to grow some balls and jump in....and stay out of the politics thread for a while...

It took me about a year of lurking before I jumped in at the original board. It's really fun the first time someone disagrees with you and contradicts a post of yours. Then you know you belong. :D

There is no better feeling than finding out that a paper you thought was due tomorrow is actually due next week.

Well, OK, that's a lie, buuuuut it is pretty nice.

Also it's currently 65 and is going to be 73 tomorrow, 78 Thursday, and so on and so forth for at least the rest of the week. :D :D :D Of course, then motivation to do anything productive goes entirely out the window...

:P Very astute analysis of my post.

a lot of us when through it when we joined the original boards. i know i did. it was daunting to join the likes of phil, ice, etc, etc. (haha). with their multi thousand post counts, knowing peoples names IRL, and absurd amount of knowledge about hockey but if i, or anyone else, didnt grow a pair then we wouldnt be here now.

luckily this is a good group we have here and to not be welcomed you pretty much have to be an utter douche from the start. ive been to other forums for things that if your new and post in the wrong section your post gets deleted and you essentially get a message saying your a dumbass. its not like that here.

is that a better :D

ATL, rarely have i had a paper due a week after i thought it was suppose do be. the other way around, that happened more often.

That almost happened to me today. I looked up when a book review was due in the syllabus yesterday to found out that it was due last Tuesday, the first day back from spring break... Oops. I skipped class that day, too. Sooooo I ended up reading the book yesterday and getting up at 6:30 to write the review, went back to bed from 7:00-7:45, after I finished... class at 8:30. Went to class to find out that during the class I missed he had postponed the due date to the Thursday that is after tomorrow. Basically, this feeling has happened twice today, and it's great.

Shit, I lurked for like three month before I joined forums.sabres.com. I didn't feel confident enough to be able to talk about my views and such about the team and be able to back them up in a public setting at first.

I've noticed the new people who join here have no qualms about saying "Heyo" and jumping right in. It helps that a bunch of us always welcome them.
