I want them in the first round. They are my most HATED team in the league. Bam!

Montreal < Sabres
Sabres > Montreal
Montreal = DONE

I dont think its that bold of him, last night was the first time all season montreal beat us in regulation and only the second of six games. We'll also be better off with the guys currently injured.

I just think it's cocky to assume that any series would be a cake walk... It's the playoffs, and anything can happen. Some teams get swept, and some series takes 7 games to decide which team is the winner. Of course we all have our opinions on which teams we'd rather face and which teams we'd rather not, but let's be a little more subtle about it.

Eh I didn't really want it to mean that way even though it's pretty much like that now that I see it. I just want to beat them so bad...

Most recent play is always a key indicator. The Sabres were dominated by the Habs n their last 2 meetings: Obviously last night's shutout, but certainly the previous game as well. Yes, the Sabres pulled it off in the end of that game, but they needed a 6 on 4 immediately followed by a 5 on 4 to do it.

While it feels good to dismiss that point with a simple "a win is a win is a win", those flukey situations are rare. If you remember the post-game comments from the players, they weren't a bunch of homers, but instead recognized this point.

Of the bottom 3-5 teams hovering around the 6-8 spots, the Habs are the LAST team you want the Sabres to face.

Last.

Actually both goals in the comeback game were 6-on-4, but otherwise you've got a great point.

I think a series against Montreal would be very reminiscent of the 2007 series against the Rangers.

We'd win, but it'd be very tight.

No way...like someone said above, I would love to get Philly, or Boston.

Montreal's goaltending is awesome and the way our scoring keeps coming and going, I don't know. I think we'd eventually win, but it would be one of those long, drawn out, life reducing series and they would be spent and bounced in the second round.

I don't really care who we play as long as we win, but I would prefer Montreal.

say they play montreal. a win would feel pretty good, wouldnt it? now say you wish for montreal, and they beat buffalo, which, is VERY possible. then how would you feel?

The same as if we would lose to any other team.
