So i live in New England....The area of course is all Boston sports fans - Sox, Celtics, Pats, and Bruins....

Well today I put on my Sabres shirt and cap, and went shopping....I visited a pizzeria, Sears, Target, Walmart, and a grocery store similar to Tops.....I also went to my insurance company, and stopped by a roadside spring to fill up some water jugs....total time was about 2 & 1/2 hours....

guess how many comments I got from Bruins fans ?

how about none ? zip, zero, nada, nothing.....

Tell me if I went to all these places in Buffalo in Bruins gear that i wouldn't get at least ONE comment !

I'm thinking about setting up a roadside stand (kinda like a lemonade stand), but instead of selling lemonade, I'll sell tissues for Bruins fans 8-)

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

Connolly/Roy - 2 goals in the last 47 playoff games

Dude, we're brutal. I, personally, have growled at a guy at Tops in Fredonia wearing a Leafs third jersey. He heard me and looked. I growled again and pointed to the crest on my Sabres jersey.

I wouldn't say that. Flames fans are pretty much the best fans.

First of all, it's kinda funny that you've decided people of a MAJOR city aren't great fans just because the few that you ran into, didn't make a stupid comment about your Sabres gear. WTF?

Second, it's been my experience, having lived in several major metro areas, that people have so much other shit going on, various sports teams and such, that they don't have all their eggs in one basket and get all funked up over one-single thing. Whereas here in Bufftown, it's the Sabres, the Bills......and what else? The waterfront? Elmwood Ave? Not many things to focus on here outside of the Sabres.

If I was in the B-lo and I say someone wearing Bruins gear, you better believe I would at least send a boo their way....or maybe even a growl like phil.....lol

One of the greatest joys of sport is giving it to fans of the other team.

well, i find that typically, yankee fans are complete inbred nutsacks. when you come to detroit, and chant "1918" and "whose your daddy?" (regarding the red sox previous world series, and pedro martinez in 2004) you pretty much suck.

Sorry, even though I have teased people I know who are fans of other teams, I would NEVER do that to a total stranger (away from the arena), 'cause it just makes your team's fans look like a bunch of assholes. Hard to forget that speacial moment when some Sabre fans were written about after having harrassed some little kid who had the nerve to wear HIS teams jersey in HIS home arena. Grow up a little.

By the way, I was in a different city a couple years ago, and some jackass, after learning where I was from, made a couple derogatory remarks about Buffalo teams while bragging about the achievments of his town's teams. All I said to him was, "It's not like you had ANYTHING to do with how good they are". As simple a statement as that is, it actually shut the guy up.

Reminds me of the Jerry Seinfeld routine where he says "I don't understand sports fans. At the end of a game where the home team wins, they scream WE WON! WE WON. No you didn't. THEY (the team) won, you watched!"

When total strangers have the nerve to wander our city and talk shit at hometown fans of the hometown team (Leafs fans, Habs fans, Sharks fans - which was weird - for example), then I'm going to give shit back to folks who wanna parade around. And it just wasn't "Bleh your team sucks", it's always "Bleh this city sucks"

Me messing with other kids wearing another jersey in the store is just me messing around. I would never truly fuck with someone.

Fuck yea. People wanna come into my town to see their team, be gracious. The lax community is a great example of gracious fans - I'll talk ten tons of shit at a K'Hawks fan, but before and after the game, they're drinkin' buddies and fans of the creator's game.

Sharks fans? Really? That's the most random thing I've heard all day.

the reality is home is what you make it. people who hate where they live, will probably hate every place they live. detroits bad, but its not a desolate, third world city. its fine in the right areas. downtowns pretty sweet, really.

It's funny how rust belt cities are pretty much all the same, eh?
