Bulletin: More surgery for Hecht

Lindy Ruff just announced that Jochen Hecht had to have another procedure on his finger yesterday and will be out for "weeks, not days." Looks like he's out for the entire series, perhaps longer if the Sabres advance.

More to come.

Hecht is definitely a player I did not want to see miss playoff time....however, our depth is really starting to show - ennis, gerbe, mancari....With that being said I don't think it's a huge blow really

Tyler Myers - Future captain of the Buffalo Sabres, and future Norris Trophy Winner

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

Connolly/Roy - 2 goals in the last 47 playoff games

If Torres can step it up, we won't feel the loss so much. I hate ifs though...

Well, this is Gerbe's shot right here. Can he prove he'll be an effective 2 way forward?

At the begninning of the season I never would have thought I would miss Hecht so much, but it does suck.. Our depth will fill in nice though, as long as he's here for the ECFs and Stanley Cup Finals if we make it that far..

Not Hecht damn it! He was really becoming a great asset to our team! We need someone to step up now and I don't see that happening...

Well we had Ennis already up. I don't think Gerbe is going to do anything but be a puck hog... We need someone to take the place of Hecht.

Raffi. Torres.

Watch some highlights of the Oilers playoffs in 06. His line with Pisani and Hemsky was magical.

I hope he can do the same thing with us...

He doesn't have one goal since the trade deadline. He sucks.

Yeah. You may be right. But somehow, I feel confident with this guy in the lineup. I don't know why though.

I think a 3rd line of Grier-Goose-Torres could be great for us in the playoffs. Kinda like Moen-Pahlsson-Niedermeyer in 07 with the Ducks. A physical defensive line able to score garbage goals. But that's just me... ;)

Plus, some of those hits might be Carubba material.

i agree....that would be a good line...I also am not afraid of having him in the lineup either...I think fans might be surprised how he performs in the playoffs.....

I wouldn't be surprised if he is among our leading scorers

Stu Barnes didn't score a goal in his trade before the '99 Playoffs. Then scored 7 in that run.
