Yep the Sabres are taking on the chin in every part of the game in this series..Well Miller has been ok,but even he is "off" IMO

The Bruins are just flat out bigger and stronger the the Sabres, and Chara is an absolute wall of a defender.

Chara can't be wore down.

Chara can't be bargained with.

Chara can't be out smarted.

And he's out there for 30+ minutes....


So...they have to be the better team.

The BIG problem with yesterdays game and perhaps the reason they lost, is the back check. The forecheck worked very hard to try and make up for the stature mismatch, and they didn't get back fast to stop the Bruins forwards. The Bruins set up shot after shot after shot after shot in the middle of the high slot. One timers with the whole net to shoot at? Yeah, not even Miller is gonna get all of those and two get through tonight.

The fix is pretty easy, and they actually already made this adjustment late in the first. Keep a forward high in the Ozone, resist the temptation to support the cycle TOO much because they will get trapped!

The second goal was a savvy vet exposing a rookie, it happens but I don't think it was Interference, close but no. Again, if everybody is back on defense they still don't get the high percentage shooting ice.

So, I think the Sabres may need to concede their forecheck and instead go with a 1-4 delay! They need to capitalize on the BooHooins mistakes, instead of trying to out work them down low.

And they have got to move more on the power play, rotate the points around, get an umbrella going, show them something new and make Rask move around and get confused!

Perhpas you're taking his comments too personally. You speak as if you're on the team he's criticizing. Step back and recognize that those who rag on certain aspects of this team's game are criticizing THEM, not YOU.

You are correct. Fans do that all the time, I was just never one of them. I guess I always felt kinda silly speaking as if I had anything to do with a win or loss. I always refer to a team as "they". Doesn't mean I'm not proud of a team I follow, just feel funny speaking like I am sharing a bench with them.

I always laughed at Jerry Seinfeld's routine where he says "sports fans always scream "we on, we won" after a victory. He says "No you didn't. THEY won, YOU watched!"

In a nutshell, that's always been my gut feeling on this.

Ok, so we have both sides of it, that discussion is over(I hope).

Can we go back to discussing why the Vezina goalie may be sitting with no offensive threat whatsoever? I'm just having trouble wondering why we still play little forwards in a defensive role(see Kennedy bouncing off example). The guys are mostly scorers. I dunno, maybe someone can make some sense, cuz I don't get it right now.

How many times are we going to see Ennis, Kennedy, and Roy-SIZED players on this team?

I think that when you have some time to cool and take a step back, you'll start thinking that maybe tonights game wasn't so bad.

This series isn't over, and if Connolly can keep improving and vanek can return, I think game 4 is a win.

Then its back to buffalo.

The injuries just might get us again. I'm for Gerbe at this point. Making them guess at their hits is better than assuring them you will be pinching along the boards(playing bank shots when challenged and losing to intelligent defenseman). If Lindy plays his zombie lines(system), we're in trouble. We need to play to win. If he plays his "I'll play defensive until Cain is acquitted" philosophy then we're done. They'll eat that up.

WE'RE GOING TO SEE WHAT OUR COACH IS MADE OF WEDNESDAY NIGHT. Sorry for the caps, but it's oh so true.

The Sabres size is only a disadvantage when they play in a way that allows Boston to exploit them for it.

The boys won game one because they used their speed. Boston looked like they were running circles that game trying to keep up with us.

If they'd get back to that, we'd be fine.

Word. Boston can't hit what they can't catch. Half of their defensive core is made up of guys that can't clock in at higher than 2 miles per hour.
