detroit is just under 1,000,000 now. its losing about 4 thousand people a year. but should something happen, then yeah. its all theory, and its a LONG way off. probably not in my childrens lifetime. metro detroit is also one of the largest metros in the nation.

I like the metro ares of Detroit like Livionia and Sterling Heights great places to shop and stay over night in those areas

well to be blunt..Detroit(the city) is ten times the shit-hole Buffalo is,or even Cleveland..I would never go to Detroit city for anything.

i suggest you go to the city then. its not bad outside some bad neighbourhoods. its really just a larger version of buffalo, and cleveland. its a rustbelt city.

downtown is pretty sweet.
