Fail.

I've used the "Yzerman curve" blade before, and love it. Not sure if that's what you mean, or if this is over my head(teen angst).

Anyways, I love Stevey, but I feel this move is against his character, and disloyal to Detroit to some degree. At some point they would have given him any position he chose. I wish him well, and realize he won't even need good tidings. Players WILL want to play for him(more than Regier for sure), and he has owners willing to make moves, and some good core players already. Beware for Lightning striking. Now just like the Kovalchuk trade watch people say, " told ya Stevie Y. was a bad move" when Tampa doesn't make the playoffs next year. LOL/

its not like that anywhere. i think the statistic is 1 in 10 (which is huge) canadian boys play organized hockey at some point. i think in michigan, i think its 1 in 12? minnesotas the same.

that being said, when i talked to a girl in key west last summer, and told her i was from michigan, her first question was "do you play hockey?" followed by "does it snow in the summer there?"

This obviously isn't true cause Stevie was looking for the GM job but Holland isn't going anywhere so Detroit gave him permission to talk with other teams. The job in TB was pretty much his as long as he wanted it. And he said he didn't know at first if he wanted it but when he knew he wasn't going to get in Detroit he decided to leave.

I'm glad you highlighted "at some point". That does not include him wanting Holland's job NOW. Everyone has to wait their turn.

in my graduating highschool class atleast over half had played organized hockey at some point. Your statistic must include all the hick towns and eskimos up north. Hockey > Soccer > Baseball in Canada

Canada and America are way different in sports. I'm sure you couldn't find a kid in America who hadn't at least played some form of Basketball or Soccer, because those sports are cheaper, and can be played anywhere here.

We aren't Canada, and no city will have that many playing Hockey, since it's not one of our national sports.

I heard a couple of rumors that Tampa Bay is gonna ask the Sabres permission to interview Dineen.

The Red Wings have given Yzerman permission to speak to Ryan Martin, their director of hockey administration. He's the fella who worked the cap and some long-term deals like a champ.

Yea, they can shut it. They basically groomed to be the new GM but then extended Holland and his staff, so it was like they ran him out of the organization.

He's a great hockey mind and he deserved his own team. He has that now. The fans should be proud of the chance he's received.

This is just a test run for Yzerman. He'll be back when Holland retires. Those people will regret calling him out like that. lol

http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2010/06/yzerman-steals-from-the-wings-signs-verbeek-to-scout-for-lightning.php

Stevie Y has stolen his first former co-worker from the Red Wings - the little ball of hate himself, Pat Verbeek. Verbeek was scouting for Detroit for the past four years, and now he's with Tampa.

Next up will probably be the Red Wings salary expert Ryan Martin, who Yzerman was already given permission to speak to.
