its wierd in PA< i cant make heads or tails of the wording, but i dunno about NYS

I think it depends on the cc of the scooter... and you really shouldn't be on any highways obviously...lol... but other than that, i believe its no problem, at least my buddy or i haven't had any issues in Pittsburgh ...

Under 50cc, you only need a standard class D license. Above that, you need a motorcycle license.

And the only highway-rated scooter in the state of NY (that I know of) is the Vespa GTS 300 Super, with a 278cc displacement and a top speed of 80MPH.

Yeah but MSRP on that thing is $6,200.....

Why would you want that when for the same price you can get a 2 or 3 year old one of these

Thats an '07 Yamaha R6 and typically selling for about $6000 right now......easy choice if you ask me phil.....

Yea it is, I'd get the GTS 300 Super cuz I think crotch rockets are ugly as fuck :D

NOW, if it was between this for $6,199:

and this for $6,999:

The decision sways in a decidedly non-scooter manner ;)

Honestly, if I do get anything two-wheeled in the near future it'll either be this Schwinn cruiser from Target:

or this Il Bello 125cc model from Fly Scooter if I want something motorized:

Like YankeeinRaleigh said, if it's just for cruising around in Buffalo and no country roads, get a scooter as that would be fine to putz around Buffalo.

I mean personally, I wouldn't want to dare ride a scooter where I live. My car was only $1200, but to find a 16 year old car without rust in New York is damn near impossible.
