I'm a huge Docs fan. In fact, I've got a couple of different pairs right now.

I want that life thing on them (they'll be repaired or replaced as needed for the rest of my life), and that's only offered for a few basic styles, and I think only on their website. The things at Journeys are the same prices as they are at the Doc Martens site, at least the ones that I've matched up so far. The styles that come for life are offered without it at lower prices. Edit: They also come with product to care for the leather and extra shoelaces, which aren't mentioned as coming with other shoes I've looked at. Not that I actually care about those things... just giving possible reasons for the price difference lol.

IMO, quality footwear doesn't need a lifetime guarantee. If they're manufactured to a certain standard, they will last for life. The only qualifying factor is how they're cared for.

The same can be said for car engines.

...and significant others.

Do us all a favor and just keep drinking crap.

Leave the good beer for folks that know the difference and don't disparage what you don't understand.

the ironic hipsters thing is a west thing. PBR in the west is what bud light/keystone light is in the north. in the south, PBR is the only thing to drink it seems. and in michigan, you dont even find PBR unless you search for it. me? i drink molson if i can, and in the south, i get my yeungling on.

Given that you're like three states away, you should be getting your Yuengling on up here anyway ;)

we dont have it here. i always "import it" when my sister comes north.

naw, i get why three philosophers is good, i didnt care for it.. well. it was weird. first taste was ok, second taste was.. im not diggin this. 10 minutes after i poured it, it warmed up a touch, and it was good, and 3 minutes later, it was a shade too warm, and grosscore. ill drink my other bottle, no problem, but i wasnt digging it. but i saw it and decided to try it.

i LOVE my wheat beers, especially sunset wheat. oberon is good depending on the year, and blue moon is always pretty good.

but, yeah, there are times when a PBR or keystone light is unbeatable. those are usually the nights where the agenda is "lets get bombed"... youd never do that off a three philosophers. thats against the whole nature of that beer.

I get to go home today! WEEEEEE! I've been stuck near Albany for over two weeks now, not working or doing anything but sitting around on the internet and swimming all day. People aren't really meant to sit around and do nothing, and I have been bored. I'm VERY excited to go back to work. And my brother will be coming with me, so I won't be home alone for an indefinite period of time. (I have been here in anticipation of my grandmother's death, to attend her funeral, but so far she's been living for seven weeks now without eating anything and drinking only enough water every day to take medication; I will miss her funeral by going home, but that does not bother me in the least, and due to time between death and funeral I would have to go home if she does not die within the next couple of days anyway because I'm taking a plane to Maryland in about a week.) I can't handle not having anything to do for so long... It's cool when you're fourteen, I guess.

Dude, you'll get more drunk (faster) off 3phi than PBR, guaranteed. Go ahead, slam a 4 pack of 3phi as fast as you drink PBR.

That being said, when I want to drink a LOT of beer over a LONG period of time, THAT's when cheap (Yuengling) beer is acceptable.

ok, I'll ratchet down by beer snob righteous indignation...I just can't stand the whole PBR fad.

Miller bought Pabst a decade ago and the resurgence in popularity of the brand prompted Miller to close the original aging brewery in Milwaukee, fire all the workers and package the Pabst brand from their larger breweries.

It's all nondescript rice based swill.

And now Vlasic owns Pabst. (It's true, bought it for $250M)

Which is just more evidence it's not about the beer at all.

It's been contract brewed for 10 years...it's just another brand in a portfolio.
