It was the highway, 127kmh equates close to 80mph. Remember Sabretoothpick, we go by Miles here so it's not common to see anything over 100 on a speedo.
That car couldn't go 130mph, not right now it can't. It probably tops out around 120, but I'm not gonna push it to that right now. When I go RB25DET in it, I'm sure 160 would be an easy feat.
After reading up a bit about it I just found out that the RB stands for the engine model line, 25 is displacement, D is for dual overhead cam, E is for electronic fuel injection, and
T is for Turbocharger
. Seems pretty easy to get now.
Thanks Wikipedia!Pretty much, haha.
Japanese motors are all too easy to figure out.
Another very common motor put into the 240sx is the SR20DET motor, which is a 2 litre inline 4 turbo that came in the Silvias everywhere else but in America.
I have the shitty KA24E motor in mine.
Nissan is actually very clever with the naming of their cars.
300zx, VQ30DE engine or VQ30DETT engine in others. 350z, VQ35DE engine, 370z, VQ37DE engine. 240sx, KA24DE engine, the 280zx was the same, the inline 6 2,8 litre engine. the 180sx had a CA18DET engine in it also.
Oh Nissan, you are so clever at naming cars.
The RB25DET come out of GTS-T Skylines, the GT-R Skylines had the RB26DETT motor in them, but they are a pain to drop in a 240sx without extensive modifications to the car body or the entire oil pan of those motors since they were AWD.
