people always think they have the right to comment on what others decide to do with their own bodies. its just stupid.


i just hate that certain things are more socially acceptable than others with no real sound reasoning. like if any girl dyes her hair blonde, no one cares, but if I do it, it somehow becomes less socially acceptable.

i could go on a long rant about how much i hated where i worked. I got talked to a few times by my boss for going to sabes games (which required leaving work .5-1 hour early those days) even though i always made up time during the week and i took less vacation and sick time than everyone in my department.

also, this is why i love being a manager where i work. friday, i scheduled myself to leave at 4 so i could get home to get ready for the game before heading to buffalo, and at the last minute said, "you know what, i'm just gonna get outta here at 3"

so, you're totally a huge metal/hardcore fan then, right?

I call myself a metalhead due to that being primarily what I listen to, but I'm a huge spectrum of music kind of guy. Example, two of my favorite records are Moody Blues' "Days of Future Passed" and Supertramp's "Crime of the Century" Never got into hardcore, though...mostly for lack of trying. I know of some legendary hardcore bands but I wouldn't be able to name a single song by Black Flag or the Cro-Mags.

I was an engineer. So I had the lovely shackles of the business casual attire, and the cubicle in which to waste away. I got yelled at for my appearance a bunch of times, but a couple weren't my fault. HR told me that jeans and sneakers were fine, and then I got yelled at by the department VP. Annoying. Then when I bought new clothes and became one of the better dressed people there, I got made fun of. Fuck those people.

If I find commercial success as a writer I'm dying my hair pink or blue because fuck, I can

yeah, to be honest i've just never been able to completely distinguish the difference between metal and hardcore. like, love animosity-- couldn't tell you what genre they really are.

yeah, to be honest i've just never been able to completely distinguish the difference between metal and hardcore. like, love animosity-- couldn't tell you what genre they really are.

I can distinguish to a degree the difference, but I wouldn't be able to put it into words. I just know on an instinctive level which is which, I guess. It's strange, because while I can't fully articulate what the difference between those two is, I could go on for hours breaking down the differences between different metal subgenres.

I'm on the wing of a plane at City Museum in St. Louis, which is my favorite place in the world... However, spending 11:00-1:00 (am) there with breaks to eat results in arms, shins, and knees covered in bruises the next day. :P If anyone is ever sightseeing in St. Louis, make that place a priority.
