How fucking weird is it that conservative commentators cannot talk about Obama without mentioning his middle name? There's no Sarah Louise Palin or Willard Mitt Romney... I'm trying to figure out if it's hilarious that they can be petty and passive aggressive enough to try and imply negative attributes based on his name alone, or sad that it works on far too many people.

its either that or that hes "from kenya"

Yeah coincidentally that was also a topic of discussion on the show I was listening to on the way home, although it wasn't so much "Obama is a foreigner" as much as it was "it's a goddamn birth certificate, shouldn't this be pretty easy to get right for every candidate."

Birthers can be overwhelming, true.
But they aren't morons.
The morons are the citizens who don't demand to see the proper documentation, that's the real morons.

Once again, people tend to hold no accountability. We are the government, every single citizen is.
It is our responsibility to ensure everything is in order with our leaders, including the proper documentation needed to hold certain positions, up to and including the presidency.

But, his birth has been recorded in Hawaii, hell, I don't even have access to my original birth certificate any more. I had to go get the same type of document Obama has from N.T. city hall.

Like I said, they may be over zealous, but they are showing accountability as citizens, that is much more than I can say for many in this country.

that would be fine, but hes shown a document, and it was proven to be authentic. seal was raised, stamped, signed, everything. you can see it on the internet. birthers demand the long form. if it was any other president, the documentation obama produced would be enough. but for him, its not.

There is more than one manifestation of moron though. I agree that demanding proof is showing independence and responsibility....but when you get proof you need to say "thank...I think I'll sit down now." and not bark like a moron that it isn't good enough. The birthers who accepted the proof are just fine, but the ones who refuse to let anything derail them from their opinion that Obama is a Kenyan born Muslim racist who was trained in radical fundementalist schools and is trying to bring America down from the inside...well they kind of deserve the moron label in my opinion.

Birthers are morons.

They yelled that he wasn't a citizen because they didn't like him. The election commission said that he's satisfied the statutory requirements for being a citizen.

Then they screamed and yelled for the birth certificate. He provided his birth certificate.

Then they screamed and yelled that it wasn't the RIGHT certificate.

These people have it in their heads that Obama is not a citizen. You could show them a video of his birth and they'd say it was doctored by magical Kenya Photoshopping. You can't show them proof because they won't accept anything that doesn't fit their preconceived notion of what that truth is.

That's a moron.

The best part is that McCain's eligibility was actually MORE in question than Obama's because of his birth in the PCZ. Of course, they never demanded to see HIS birth certificate.

I imagine (haven't looked it up) that a child born to a military member overseas is a non issue. My son was born in Germany but if he ever ran for election or what not I assume no one could hold it against the kid since his parents were fighting in the military at the time. Now that would be some crazy shit too. The on base hospital took births on Mon-Wed-Fri and the other days you had to drive downtown to the German hospital. If your baby was born on base then nothing to worry about, the baby is on American soil technically and you're all good...but if your baby's mama decides to push on an "off" night then dual citizenship is the deal. So basically my son would have had dual citizenship if my wife went into labor 6 hours later than she did.

Yeah, basically you must be born in a state or controlled territory. Keyword in the 12th amendment is "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof."

There were actually legitimate questions about McCain because at the time of his birth, people born in the Canal Zone were NOT US citizens. That was granted retroactively later one. Not a big deal, but funny how the birthers never questioned that. It was a legitimate debate for some time.

Olbermann managed to snag a prime time show on a channel with even fewer viewers than MSNBC.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/20 ... next-move/

Solid career choice there Keith.

He's doing better than I am and could probably pay my entire morgage all at once without batting an eye. I can't slam him.

But no one is comparing him to you.
He should be compared with other cable based political commentators with their own show.

He was involuntarily downgraded...I don't see how that can be spun as a positive.
