Heading to the Toronto Zoo today with mom, dinner tonight with my sis then back home tomorrow. Flight isn't until late in the day so we're hoping to get out on stand-by a little earlier. Not looking to potentially spending hours in the Toronto airport, but kind of looking forward to going home and back to smaller highways, less concrete, our kids (Cats) and most importantly... our own bed!

You can more likely than not set up your bank accounts so you can do transfers online from account to account. I have my mom's bank account set up so I can transfer money in and she can transfer money in mine. You can even go as far to set up withdrawals from account to account, but I'd rather not do that myself. Look into it, it's really convenient.

So I was coming home last night from my hockey game. The speed limit is 35 in the city and changes to 45 after the one light exiting the main downtown part. I know cops always, or typically sit under the one bridge I was coming up to. I wasn't speeding or anything like that, plus it was midnight, I was tired, not doing anything stupid, except texting on my phone.

When I pass the officer I notice my speed is 48 in the 45 zone, no big deal, but I just finished a text so I figured he saw me texting or some shit like that. He pulls out and follows me and proceeds to pull me over. He claims I was going 54 in that zone, which is complete and utter bullshit since the car in front or me a bit was obviously going the same speed as me since the gap between us didn't move. And of course the cop is going after the 2 door 90's sports car with a teen driver in it and not the PT Cruiser.

So he says I'm going 54 which is fucking bullshit in it's own right and claims that zone is 35, which is also, I'm 99% sure it's 45, wrong too. But he wasn't a total douchenozzle and only wrote the ticket for 44 in a 35 zone. But it royally pissed me off. When he pulled me over speeding never crossed my mind since I was speeding. Best part was it was a fucking city cop, so he's a disgrace to all cops out there.

I need to go up to that location and get pictures of where it turns to 45, because it was 45 in the area I was at, get my proof and tell that cop to go fuck himself for being a dick and not knowing the speed limit of where he was sitting at.

I'm still pissed about it, mainly because he's a fucktard and can say whatever speed he wants to say. I'm also going to get my speedometer calibrated to see if it's off also. Because I know I never went over 50 in that area, I'm not stupid.

Best thing also is it's a $156 ticket. Fine and court costs, which fucking sucks. But I have until May 16th to deal with it, so 1.5 months away to basically give him the ole fuck you about it.

Meh, I got a speeding ticket when I wasn't speeding. It was absolute bullshit, and that is why I said it.

Whenever I text while driving, I've noticed my foot comes off the gas anyways. The entire ticket is bullshit, and one city cop has given them all a bad rep now.

Technically you were still speeding, regardless of which zone you were in. Also, how does your foot coming off the gas make texting while driving any safer? I'm hoping that was in jest, otherwise that's just stupid.

I went today and opened new checking + savings accounts out here, with a bank that has locations in the places where I'm potentially interested in living after I graduate... I'm contemplating keeping my accounts with M&T to continue to build credit and just to have them in case I do end up living in Buffalo again (doubtful, but who knows; plus, I'm starting to want to go on a vacation there soooo obviously I miss it), but right now I think it's kind of pointless to keep them going, especially because I don't really have a way of depositing anything conveniently and I'm down to just over $150 total. Most likely I will just keep the accounts until I graduate, giving them some more funds over the summer to keep them afloat.

....Anyway. lol.

He never mentioned texting. Too hard to prove. And I wasnt even speedin maybe two miles over not 54 like he claimed. It does matter what zone I was in. If I prove it was 45 then I wasn't speeding. He wrote the ticket as a 44 in a 35. Which would make it a 44 in a 45 when I get the proof, that means the ticket gets dropped.

He picked the sports car over the family car to pull over at the end of the month. Trying to meet his quota for the month. But it's too hard to prove profiling also.

My speedo can be off but there was no way in he'll my car said over 50 at all in that 45 zone. He didn't know the speed limit anyways there.

Maybe you should take that as a sign to stop texting while driving? No one here is perfect and abides by the law completely, but texting while driving is just really, really stupid. So many people say that they do it because they're really "good at it"...but it doesn't matter what your track record is, it only takes a split second to get into an accident and change everything. It's just not worth it.

Hockey Night in Buffalo

one of my best friends little sister was driving to school her senior year. going down m-24 at 65 MPH and she was texting. she never took her foot off the gas, and never saw it coming, but she went off the road and slammed into a tree. head on. amazingly, she walked away from that. she never saw it coming. her jeep was totaled though. go figure.

ill text at a red light or a train crossing, but outside that, it can wait.

I'm also of the red light or train crossing mindset, and then ONLY if it's either Missy, my mom, my dad, or my brother. Otherwise, I ignore it completely. Just not worth the risk.

im usually really loud on the ice as well, always yelling instructions, even when my guys are working offensively. ill start yelling about an open player or something. and when on defense, im always yelling and directing my guys in front of me. and if a shot hits the post, ill tell the shooter "great shot, because thats all i gave you."

im not a dick but i try to keep em on their toes. ive even talked to forwards screening me, and not about hockey. keeps me loose.
