I used to like reading his dissenting opinion, but I've just come to the conclusion he's a hypocrite. He talks up college draftees all day long but routinely trashes the NHL farm system.

I still can't wrap my head around his position on this.

He doesn't care at all about prospects, but since Pegula did something, it was worth writing about. Wha? just as bad as TBN, using Pegula for pageviews.

I'll definitely be going to some Amerks games this upcoming season if everything pans out. Especially for weekend matinee games with Joshua.

So, I'm looking for a used car, but I can't find anything I like. BLAH.

Also, I graduated from college last Friday. I had a 3.494 as of fall semester, and I needed a 3.6 for magna cum laude and to make Dean's List. In order to achieve this, I could get 4 A-'s and a B+, just as an example. First grade that came back was an A- in a 400 level operations management class. Okay, no sweat. Second grade that came back was a B+ in my advanced financial accounting class. Panicking just a little, because that brought me down. The three classes I had left were: business law 2, investment management (finance), and human resources.

Business Law 2, I barely went to class for the last bit of material, I didn't study nearly as much for the test as I should have, and I was going into the test with an A, but easily could have dropped to something awful. Ended up crushing the final with a 87.3/88 and got my A. So yay, there was some slack there! In human resources, I did awful on my third test due to not paying attention in class and only studying for an hour for the final, but pulled out with an A-. YAY. So, I was basically waiting for finance. Again, I only went to class once after the second test, and that was the last day of class. Between the first and second test, I went twice. And overall, I probably went about 5-6 times. Go to the final, I have no idea how I did. Absolutely no clue. I needed at least a B, and if I got a B-, I wouldn't make Dean's List and I would end up with a 3.499 and they don't round for Latin honors. Definitely felt the pressure, but I barely studied (thank you, senioritis). So, I get my grade yesterday and I got an A in finance! I was shocked.

So, in short, I got a 3.734 in my last semester of undergraduate, and ended up with an overall GPA of 3.524 and got my magna cum laude. :) I'm just thrilled.

What I'm not so thrilled about is that my dad didn't show up to my graduation ceremony, nor did he do anything to congratulate me. Even though I'm not close with him, it still hurts and further reminds me why we have such a poor relationship.

Nice Job. I came away with a 2.6 overall GPA, and a 3.0 in my Engineering classes. For some reason I could pull B+s all day long in my hard classes, but I fucked up all the introductory science classes and a few bullshit electives. I took like a 700 level class my senior year because it was the only CE (Civil/Environmental) class that I hadn't taken that fit into my schedule, was one of two or three undergrads in the class, and wound up pulling a B+.

Oh yikes. That's great for a 700 level class, especially as an undergrad.

Also, we just wore blue garbage bags. :P But seriously, the black ones look Harry Potter-ish. I approve. :D

They looked even more Harry Potterish on the profs because they all had colored hoods :P

Yeah, the breakdown of the class was like Midterm - 45%, Final - 55% which scared the crap out of me. So I ended up doing the optional ten page research paper that ended up dragging 10-15% away from those two which I think impressed the professor.

Yeah, our profs all wore their robes and hoods from their alma maters. I was wondering why they all had different garb on, but someone explained to me that the professors always wear their school's garbs. I thought that was interesting.

I think that was the point of the hood colors, yea.

Pretty freaking cool. You guys take stats and everything I take it?

One of the guys in my league at the YMCA does web design and made a website with all the scores, stats, rosters, and recaps. It's pretty freaking cool.

http://ymcahockey.com/

I'm the goalie in the "media" section with the Winnipeg Jets jersey.

the park district keeps track of all the basic stuff for us. for players: Goals, for goalies: W, GAA, SO, Sv% so far my brother is leading in goals, and i should be near the top (if not at the top) is GAA Sv% and Ws.

Its a fun league that just started this season so this is all new for most people. the first couple weeks were a bitch for me. all but 2 of the people i drafted (yes we did a draft  ) dropped from the league so i had to rebuild my team from pretty much scratch. luckily i have 7 other friends that decided to play and we developed as a team really quickly which was great. my brother is, really, my #1 offensive tool but a couple of guys have started to score and 2 guys specifically have fallen into defense nicely. one is my back up goalie and i love it. he will make a kick save while playing defense which makes my life easier  . even the 61 shots were all easy shots from the point or from bad angles. if i had this team from week 1 we would probably be 4-0 instead of 2-2 (we had to forfeit the first week bc i didnt have a team and the second week we played the best team in the league as our first game together)

That's pretty neat, I love the fact that we have someone keeping stats and posting them for every game.

We did a draft as well, and our captain ended up bailing on us. We only have 5 guys per team (3 floor, 1 sub, 1 goalie) because the gym is so small, although it does make for a very fast paced game. In our league you can get a sub from another team if you're down a guys except for the playoffs.

How long are your periods and how big is your gym? You should try to make a sub rule for your league that everyone can agree on so you don't have to forfeit. In the end everyone pays money for it, and should be able to play.

we play 2, 24 minute halfs running clock and people sub in and out whenever (except goalies...we're stuck in there for the full 24 minutes without a break).

We talked about a sub rule and in my reworking of my team i added a few people that i know wont be able to make every game but probably could in a pinch. it was ultimately voted down because some of the guys didnt want ringers brought in and the park district wasnt to keen on random people showing up each week.

our gym is a full basketball court so we play 4-4 plus goalies which is great and each team carries anywhere from 7-10 guys which, in some cases, gives teams full line changes. The forfeit thing was more of an embarrassment then anything else. we still played that night buy filling the team with players from the previous game or players who were early for the next game. it still counted as a loss but we got the hr of play out of it.

At least you guys still got to play. I just found out and started playing in this league last fall. I love it, it's one of the things I look forward to every week. We're only at three-ten minute periods because of the amounts of teams and we're only able to play on one night. It gets pretty tiring, I can't imagine the 24 minute halves.

i honestly keep my own stats in my head. it prevents me from getting bored and making dumb mistakes, like coming out to the blue line during a power play so i can try to shoot the puck back in when its cleared. boredom= reckless when im in net.
