Super. My battery is shitting the bed super hardcore. For a while, it refused to charge higher than 30%. Then I had the computer unplugged for like... 5-10 minutes, and it died on me, somehow. Now, it says it's charging, but it doesn't do the little charging battery movement it's supposed to... though it seems to be charging, just very slowly. I pretty much have to keep the computer plugged in at all times to make sure it still works. It's so annoying. >< I'm just trying to decide if it's worth buying a new battery, or if I should let this computer go til it dies and get a new one. It already seems to be going bad in other ways, so I feel like it would be a better option just to get a new one, rather than funneling money into something that's already going bad. :/

I've been asked by a friend if I would do the lettering for his Hurricanes jersey with his cousins name and number on the back.

Not sure how I feel about doing this one...

Ew, don't perpetuate toolish fandom.

If you don't want to do it, just say you don't do custom names and stick with current players only. Hmm, that's a tough one.

Well I say do it because not doing it is kind of being a dick.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing ;)

He knows how much I dislike them and he’s not a 'Canes fan himself (Die hard Sens fan, actually) but because they are the ones who drafted his cousin Craig MacDonald a few years back, he wants one done up commemorating his first NHL team/game etc. Well, really it was the Whalers but whatever.

Should be a challenge because of the tilted/curved font but we'll see how it all turns out.

Check Amazon or Ebay for cheap knockoff batteries. I've gotten ones for $25 that work just fine.

I've thought about that, but how well do they hold up? I don't want to get a cheap battery only to have it die on me a few months later.

Traveling doesn't have to be expensive at all.

Received my order from shop.nhl.com today and had to call them with a question. Since when did this Image Turn into this: Image

I opened the box and what was supposed to be the proper size new Sabres draft hat, turned into a size small Bruins "Twin '47" hat. Customer service is reshipping the proper hat today and I should be receiving a shipping label soon to send this thing back.

I know I wanted the B's to win the cup and all, but common. Guess I should be careful what I wish for.

OOOOH now I get it. I thought you meant, like, getting your own last name on it. But that's actually pretty sweet that his cousin was drafted.

 I thought I was crazy when I refreshed the page and saw the text bars at the top change to a different yellow. I think I noticed it yesterday or something.

Not a lot of traffic in the off-season = good time to break things.

I have one now that's been going on a year pretty soon. Seems to be about the same as my OEM battery was around a year in as well. That one lasted about three years.

Well, anywhere in the world you can couchsurf (couchsurfing.org) which is absolutely free, plus you get to stay with locals who will recommend/show you better things than all the usual touristy stuff and who actually have a lot of fun hosting people. I'm doing this in San Francisco in August. Workaway.info is also an option; it would enable you to stay on a more longterm basis, working 15-20 hours a week at someone's home in exchange for free room and board. If I ever do actually travel abroad for an extensive period of time, I'll probably combine this with couchsurfing. You can get year-long plane ticket with which you can plan trips from anywhere from like five to twenty-five cities anywhere in the world. Those cost $3,000-$10,000 depending on how many cities are chosen. I have the website for that saved, but it's on my laptop and I don't remember where it is. Also, if you want somewhere nice to stay in the US that is cheaper than a hotel, try airbnb.com. I used that to get a full apartment on the beach by the Golden Gate park in San Fran for $68 a night.

I have come across all this information on StumbleUpon. :P With it plus using Amtrak rather than an airline, I'm going on, altogether, a 12-night trip across country for just about $350 (not including money that will be spent while on the trip, but that's it for lodging and transportation round trip).
