Requested off July 27th-30th; email from my boss:

"Requests like this are frowned upon, you have only been here six weeks and ask for 4 days off? I don't know what previous employers have done for you, but I don't grant small vacations to people who have only worked a little over a month."

So tempted right now to drop 2 works at my boss in a reply..."FUCK YOU"

Losing people you know or have come in contact with makes you kind of feel weird and empty. What happened??

For my astronomy class we have to go out and sketch the moon at different times, picking out various features. Tonight there was this huge raging thunder and lighting storm off to the north east and completely clear in the south. Very cool. Did some star gazing and saw a sweet light show to boot.

I hate when companies do that, especially ones that offer a set amount of vacation time right away. I believe my old company offered something like 20 hrs immediately, and then ten every month after that for a max (my position) of 120 hrs a year (15 days). They would have said the exact same thing to me had I asked for vacation a month and a half in.

It's like, why give vacation if you don't want to let your employees use it? What the fucking fuck?

Life doesn't follow arbitrary etiquette rules that make no sense. Depending on what details you disclosed in your e-mail you could've been having a baby, had a dying parent back home, or one of any number of situations where its absurd to not grant leave.

I don't know your situation, but shit like that pisses me off to no end.

I hate bugs. I really really really hate bugs. It's probably one of my top reasons why I hate summer... freakin' bugs. They're gross and yucky and stupid.

Apparently it was a drug overdose. She was a nice person, so it's not like some idiot stoner nobody liked, and I know that sounds mean but I don't want people getting the wrong impression of her. She was super good at art, would have been a Sr. in highschool next year. :(

i think my company is screwing me.

i'm still injured, and my doctor now gave me new restrictions where i can only work 20 hours a week, even though i'm full time. i called my benefits department to find out if i can receive reduced earnings because i can't work my full time, and the company flat out told me no, i can't get anything from them.

then i called new york state to find out for sure, explained the situation and was told yes entitled to 2/3 of the money i'm not getting. in the meantime, new york gave me the number to my companys workers comp. insurance people.. i call them, they do not even have record of me even getting hurt at work, or any sort of claim number.

i filled out an accident report form, have received letters from my company about my injury, and have had multiple doctors appointments, as well as physical therapy-- so where is everything with my claim going? i don't even get it.

After three hotdogs with meat hot, a plate of baked beans and bacon and ten beers at my cousins grad party tonight.......my girlfriend will be the unwilling victim of an atomically awful dutch oven in the AM. Count it!
