I loved my first NHL game. My impressions in short form.
- I was amazed how small a NHL rink actually is, no room at all.
- The Austrian fans did a hell of a job by starting chants even though we were splattered all over the arena. (I was actually a little surrounded by Kings supporters

). We got into a bit of a cheering contest with the Germans (Ehrhoff) and we won
At the end Ehrhoff came out and gave all his equipment away and we all chanted his name -> happy end.
BTW There were a lot more Kings supporters than I thought it would be. It was still a Sabres home game though.
- Witnessing Adams first huge game was awesome, I might have to reverse my thoughts about the kid. He looked more than solid.
- I loved the diversity in the crowd. There were a lot of Americans, guys from England and I saw even one Australian.
Dislikes:
- The merchandising was just awful. A few stands which ran out of the most popular items before the game started. The arena fan shop had almost no Sabres items at all. Retarded! They could have made way more money, a jersey was 195€
- I couldn't stop shaking my head about the NHL- jerseys I saw. Representing your home town club is one thing, but wearing random NHL jerseys just because you own it is weird. I saw 3 guys in Leafs jerseys, several Ovechkins, Wings jersey ...
-I saw several vintage Haseks and a McKee which was cool.
-Music during the game breaks. It always killed th chants.
Overall it was just awesome.
