I hate our team. So much so that I would like to go on the ice and at least give it a go. Sure I wouldn't be good but at least I would fucking try. I went from pissed, to annoyed, to depressed, to tired, to complacent. Yeah all the stages associated that come with ending a long term relationship.

Who said that?

I wish Lindy could say that about the Sabres, but it was Mike Yeo, the coach of the league leading Minnesota Wild, a team with no real super stars, but a hell of a work ethic.

Like the Sabres, they are a small market team who have had their share of injuries, but unlike the Sabres they block shots (1st in the league), play team defense, and have been getting solid goal tending.

They also don't quit on each other. The Wild won three straight road games after trailing by two goals.

They want it and work for it. We don't.

Obviously they aren't much different from the Sabres, if they were trailing three straight games they obviously didn't play 60 minutes, much like we don't either.

Offense?

Man ever since the league figured out that Vanek/Pominville line is all we have on the offensive side of the puck it feels like we've almost been doubled in goals...

Any chance we get some offfense soon? these 1-2 goals for games are gettin old; I mean they'd be alright if we had a defense but who are we kiddin? Common Darcy pull the trigger on something before the roster freeze.......

You can be losing a game but still have actually played hockey. In all of those games Minny wasnt looking completely foolish and pathetic like the Sabres do. They look like a professional hockey team who wants to win.

Honestly right now it just doesn't seem right to be comparing the Sabres with the Wild.... Even though they belong to the same league they don't belong in the same league.... The effort we put together tonight will be what puts this team on the outside looking in by April... Look for similar play to continue in the weeks to come. Yes, there will be games here and there where we honestly look like the team we should be but in majority of the games remaining I believe we'll be nothing but an "over-estimated team".

Only real hope we have is when Myers returns he dominates otherwise this team is done for the year.

You know what Minnesota is? They're the Buffalo Sabres from 2 years ago, when we were 3rd in the East and won our division (And at one point were first in the LEAGUE). They're not going anywhere, just like our team from that season wasn't going anywhere.

This is my take on this team. This team isn't going anywhere if they make the playoffs and that's if they make it. Yes I know they have been banged up without all the regulars in the lineup but in all honesty besides Vanek and Pom's up front nobody is really doing much. Roy and Stafford don't even get me started. Gragani is a turn over machine and I have no idea why Lindy hasn't benched him. This team needs to acquire a center or another scorer in the worst way without mortaging the future. They are at the cap wall and will be hard pressed to dump some of our garbage to another team. I wouldn't mind seeing Roy traded along with Grag's to bring us something better. We have way too many offensive minded defenseman on this team and this team needs to be tougher.
I just can't believe how hyped most of us were at the beginning of the season and they have deflated us in the matter of two months. They can't even put one 60 minute game together at home to save their lives. It's so frustrating to watch this team because you have no clue to what's behind the scenes. Is it the players blocking out Lindy or is it the players aren't good enough or both?

I think only reason that holds Gragnani in first team is his cap hit. I liked him last season, he was a huge asset to us but honestly right now it seems that it was a fluke and he just jumped to the team where there weren't any offensive minded defensemen. Be better PP sniper/QB than Montador is not a big deal. This time, this season, it's another story. In my opinion we slightly changed gameplay, it's even more attacking, more aggressive when we lost the puck than it was last year. Especially our defensemen keep doing some things that aren't working out. Like pinching. I'm getting pretty sick of it. We have two-goal or even three-goal lead and we're pinching? What is that.. This is the best way to give the opponent a chance to get even. And Gragnani is master of it. Plus he pisses me of with his performances on PPs. It's pathetic. He can't do a saucer pass or what? When opponent's SH is large box or diamond, he's screwed. But there are more of them with turnover-issue. Sekera, Myers.. Only one who is ok to me is Leopold. He was great last year and I find him very good again this year. And Regehr. He does his job well. There are less rebounds than there were last year. I still believe that the problem is defense, not offense. And I believe we we will see the better side of us next couple of matches. Good transition will kill the Sens and Leafs play almost the same hockey as we do, therefore we should beat them. However what we really need to do is to change our game strategy, respond to score, not play the same way regardless we're up two, trailing or whatever. It's not that hard.

Avalanche, Predators, Islanders, Stars, Sens, Jets, Panthers and Coyotes all have over $10 Million dollars in cap space available....

Besides the Yotes (Ownership situation) I believe the rest are all willing to add salary to better themselves and Ennis, Stafford, Roy and to a lesser extent Sekera would do that for every team mentioned above.

My, has this place ever changed since I stopped coming here every day

Sorry. I will keep my vocabulary clean next time.

Tell me why we should waive Sekera when he's been our best defenseman most nights this season?

I dont know about Ennis but this team needs to be shaken up and to make an impact I think we should trade Stafford and Roy and start from there. "But thats our number one center!?!?!?!" I dont care, trade for a better one because Roy aint cutting it and he plays like he doesnt give a shit.
