Hey all

When I watch a sabres game on center ice, IMMEDIATELY after the game the feed gets cut and there is just this obnoxious "GOODNIGHT!" screen. So, I never get to see post-game comments.

I'm curious what was said about miller being pulled. Was miller interviewed? Anyone know the current scuttlebutt? Dish it!

My guess is miler wont make some excuse, he'll just say he was sucking and having an off night, not 'seeing' the puck, etc etc.
I'm guessing ruff said something like miller being pulled was more a comment/reflection on the team in front of him, having to spark them, etc etc.

Also what did RJ say at the time? The Pitt feed was in HD, so that got my viewing, and syncing up the DVR and WGR550 is nearly freaking impossible, so I didnt get to hear RJ call the game.

Miller wasn't interviewed. Ruff said something along the lines of how it was his first bad performance in 40 games.

Ruff spun it as the need to force the team to wake up. As well as give Patty some ice-time and spell Miller, who was looking a bit shell-shocked.

"Shit happens." "It happens to the best of them."

As mentioned, if it only happens a couple times a season, I'm not too worried.

The team had to step up for him this time and I'm glad they did it. Hopefully it showed Ruff to not overplay the Millernator.

The team needs to know that Miller isn't the savior of this team. Too often they seem to be lollygaggers behind his steller play. When he got pulled it sent a message that somebody else was going to have to win the game. Stafford answered the call.

I did see a clip where Miller came off the ice and threw his gloves then helmit. He looked to be very angry. I am assuming he was angry at himself and not the team, but.....???

On another note,
I hope the Avs beat the Sens tonight.

HAPPY 2010 NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
Please be safe....I want to see all my fellow puck heads come Friday!!!

I have never seen the Sabres perform with such vigor after pulling our goalie. It was like hitting the light switch.

Seriously...it actually really surprised me how clear and immediate the effect was.

What does this say about the mentality of this team? Team motivation has been a SERIOUS issue ever since 06/07, these guys are freaking crazy good when they choose to be, why do they need to be constantly cattle prodded into GIVING A SHIT? Honestly, it's the one thing I really dislike about this team, the work ethic.

"freaking crazy good"...and sometimes scary good!! They have a ton of talent and last night proved it. I hope they reflect on their stellar performance and come out like the stars they are on Friday.

Last nights performance by Stafford was completely shocking. Everyone knew these top 6 guys had some sort of talent, but chemistry is what I questioned. After the penalty shot 2 guys looked like men on a mission...................Paul Gaustad and Drew Stafford.

Oh, and ya, can I scream it in case any of the team reads this

"DRIVE TO THE FUCKIN NET AND GOOD THINGS HAPPEN"!!!

Sorry, couldn't resist. but all 3 goals were a direct result of players driving to the net. Maybe someone can run over to the practice center and show them this, please :?:

Stafford's moves on the tying goal were a thing of beauty. Just sayin.

Gaustad played a large role in that turnaround, to say the least.

Indeed. Goose has continued to grow into a clutch role.

Literally.

They showed a closeup of his eyes, and he looked like Lalime's old mask(Marvin the martian).

Anyways, dumb thread. It's like asking the light-weight kid why he DIDN'T puke last night? If you think Miller was just pouring those beers down the drain, then you just weren't watching him close enough.

It had been so long since he'd last been pulled, the team forgot what it was like and were shocked into playing well.

Good game.

Unfortunately, its becoming more than "a couple of times."

Keep in mind: prior to getting pulled, Miller had given up 14 goals {not including both SO attempts vs. OTT} and was 2-2-1 in his previous five starts -- with both wins coming against the Leafs.

Methinks Ryan may be thinking a little too hard about his Olympic status . . .

Nonetheless, DAMN good game by the Sabres.
