Agreed.

He really hasn't done shit since he left. I wasn't surprised he was named to the roster though...I'm sure NBC will be milking his "Little League All American hero" story as much as possible during games.

  You know they will.

Yep, *insert Eddie Murphy's 'white guy' impression* "Oh that Chris Drury is a special kind of guy"

Daz,

Langenbrunner and Malone need playmakers to have success, but maybe the only playmaking center on the roster is Stastny. I'm not totally unhappy with either of them, but I think there is better talent that should not be overlooked just because of prior Olympic experience.

With Drury though, his best years are clearly behind him. Gaustad would bring more, but Cullen is EASILY a better version of what Drury is now. I'm not the type to get all romantic over past glories and clutch moments. What is their game like right now? Right now Drury looks like the 43rd best American hockey player.

I'll agree there may be better players available, but you need a few "been there" guys too. Keeps the jitters down.

I'm not a huge fan of the Olympics and hockey is the only event I watch. I hope the USA wins the gold, but I would not trade a single Sabres regular season win for that gold.

I hope Miller and the other Sabres playing during the Olympics stay healthy.

Not a fan of the Olympics? How tragic! C'mon, the biathalon! Skiing with guns!!!
I really enjoy the speedskating events, especially the short track. The downhill and aerial skiing is fun too.

I am with you I am not a huge fan of the olympics either but I will watch the hockey but that`s about it. The only other sport I don`t mind in the Olympics is the Bobsled and the skelton races other than that I can`t get into it.

I forgot about the biathlon, Los. I could possibly get into it if they allowed the contestants to shoot at each other.

I like snowboarding in the Winter Olympics, and I think whenever Hockey has been on it was during a ridiculous time slot.

I also enjoy the figure skating, what's better than seeing hot women on ice in skanky clothes?

Count me in to this line of thought. It's interesting to a certain extent, but that's about it. Stanley cup or GTFO.

Thomas got pulled for Rask. I'm not trying to say that Thomas sucks, but when your back up is consistently better than you, maybe you aren't playing well enough to be selected for the Olympics. I think after Miller it should be Quick and Anderson, but Thomas is still somehow able to ride the wave of last season's oustanding team effort defensively.

Not to mention the big deal they made about Thomas being on the team at the Winter Classic

Without any back to back games in the Olympics, most teams will only use a one goal system anyways.

I kind of thought that as well. I kind of figured being naemd to the olympic team as a backup netminder is more an honor than anything.
