I think injuries have finally taken their toll on Craig. He has to curtail being quite as physical as he would probably like to be. Mind you; he's never been an all-star type player, so to expect much more than what he's given, and giving this team is a bit unrealistic.

Personally, I can't think of anyone on this team that I would stitch a 'C' on...that's probably why for years Ruff alternated it on a monthly basis. There is no true leader on this team and hasn't been since Michael Peca. So whatever, leave it on Rivet...apparently he was respected enough by the players to be voted the Captain essentially right when he stepped off the plane.
I would also do away with alternating 'A's for home and road games. The two permanent 'A's in my opinion should be Mike Grier and Patrick Kaleta.

Oh really, Chris Drury wasn't a good Captain? 2 ECF appearances under him. 1 that was 1 period away from being a SCF appearance, and probably a win over a middle of the road Edmonton team...Just saying

The rotating C is the worst idea in the history of hockey.

I think Gaustad could be Captain.

I also don't like the alternating A's. Grier should definitely have one, but Kaleta? Why?

Because everyone thinks he's the second coming of Jesus...I don't know why we'd even give Grier one.

Our current A's do just fine, Roy, Pominville, Hecht, are always communicating with the refs, and working hard. I don't even think we need to move the C; we just need our C to work harder, and be accountable for his actions.

Then he'll have to realize he's molasses in the winter, and play stay-at-home defense. I'm ok with him jumping up in the play when we're down by 2, but until then, stay back ffs.

Grier has been a big reason for our turnaround. If we A's are doing the job well, why did they need Grier to come in and start pushing them?

If USA wins gold I say Miller should be captain.

Yeah... Rivet's been a bust.

Last year he was decent for this team and this year he looks like he lost a step for sure and doesn't look like he has the same desire he did last year.

I agree I really wasn't expecting that much out of Grier this year as his stats were declining but he's been a solid pickup for us.

Drury and Briere were rotating the captaincy during their stay here, so that is why I consider Peca to be our last REAL captain who LED this team.

I don't agree with the rotating captaincy idea either, all I said was that I can understand why Ruff did it. Clearly there was a vacuum and leadership and by rotating it he was hoping someone would step up and rise above the rest. But, that never happened...because like ETC said, this team is gutless.

And the reason I say Kaleta should have an 'A' is because he plays his fucking balls off every goddamn night that he's on the ice.
