That is only the case because Horton i injured and won't be back until about 4 weeks from now.

I'd also take Frolik, young center. Trade Roy and Lydman and a pick for Horton and Frolik.

We'd probably have to throw in Mac/Staff as well, since Lydman is UFA and Florida really has no use for a rental...

Yea I was thinking Stafford also, but they might bite since Horton is injured already.

And if we trade Roy, we need to have some Center come our way somewhere at least.

Unless they ship in two Wingers and put Mac back in faceoff duty or Hecht, but the Hecht, Connolly, Pominville line is too good to break up.

We'd get Frolik, though.

Hecht-Connolly-Horton
Mac-Frolik-Pominville

Those would be the top 2 lines, right? Or am I missing someone?

or just keep the top line intact and put Horton on the 2nd line with Frolik when he gets back, unless the top line cools off by then...

In all honesty, if we make a move of any sorts I'll be more shocked than if we don't.

I was saying if they ship Roy out and only get Horton and not Frolik, sorry for confusing you.

I was saying if we ship Roy, we need a Center in return or two wingers though. But you're right, Ship Roy out and Stafford and a pick or something for Frolik and Horton.

then our lines could look like this:
Hecht-Connolly-Pominville
Vanek-Frolik-Horton
MacArthur-Kennedy-Grier
Kaleta-Goose/Mair-Ellis

You and me both. I think we will hear Darcy talk about where he normally talks about during trade deadline's or something of that nature that we have to see what the market value is and the market wasn't there for this player or the asking price was too high. I'm so use to his excuses and how he runs this team I will be shocked if he pulls off a trade before the 3pm deadline and he will most likely wait until the trade deadline in March when it's too late. I just hope this team can hang on to a spot in the playoffs and that Miller doesn't punch alot of teammates in the face by then.

Sabres have not made a concerted effort to be front runners. Per multiple tweets in the last 10 minutes.
The Buffalo Sabres have not, as of yet, shown they are interested in picking up any players.

The Trade deadline isn't too late, we have two weeks of the Olympics, then three days afterwords.

GMs will be talking during this two week window and can finalize deals and work them out, just not actually trade a player officially in that period.

Darcy isn't going to do anything. He builds thru the draft and that's it. He's constantly reminds us that the market isn't there or the asking price is too much. The only way this team is going to get serious talent is with Darcy as GM is thru the draft. Why do you think I get pissed when he traded a 2nd rounder for Moore and then doesn't sign the guy. What a waste of a future prospect for a rental. If Darcy did business differently I would feel more confident in the guy but this is how he runs a team so don't expect much more. What he needs to do if he going to follow his build thru the draft routine is move up to the top ten where most of your serious talent is instead of being middle of the pack.

Likely just an announcement that the team is going to be sellers come time the march deadline. I wouldn't expect anything too serious.

You may be correct. I expected alot more movement from both Florida and Edmonton if it was going to happen in the past hour or so. Nothing new really, just a bunch of tweets, mostly on speculation.

But, teams were talking, and thats probably a good sign for the actual deadline Aud.

I hope you're right slesh. And that Darcy was one of the guys talking to these teams being considered as sellers. I hope we get a surprise from him stating that he has been in some serious talks of sorts, and will continue over the break.

Horton is expected to return after the olympic Break.

my guess is mr. conservative is just sitting back and is probably making sure he gets the olympic luge events on tv. something about Regier makes me believe he'd enjoy watching grown men doing kegels.

To completely contradict myself if we could keep roy i'd do it, he was one of the only guys awake last night. Say Stafford, MacArthur, a defensive prospect say Perrson. If we do give up Roy i'd go after Frolik for sure.

RECENT RUMOR:

3 unconfirmed Tweets that BUFFALO and FLORIDA have continued talking right through the Olympics and are still talking this evening. No names mentioned nor details.

I am waiting for Dreger or Mckenzie to confirm.
