It also has a cassette player, AM-FM radio and a CD player built into it. All I need is an 8-track slot and I'm set for life.

Did you get a Crosley all-in-one unit? They make some really snazzy stereos.

Yes I did. Not sure if I want to hook this thing up to my current stereo or use the built in speakers. Might have to do an audio quality test.

I've been thinking about one of those myself. I love the decades-themed pieces...the 50's-styled one is so gnar.

That had one at Target that was literally a turntable in a suitcase. I would have gotten it, but there was no line out slot, so if the speakers weren't of good audio quality, I was pretty much screwed.

This is the one I'm talkin' 'bout. But yes, line out is very, very important.

Just got word from UB that I've been accepted and they're offering a $3,000 a year scholarship if I attend. Pretty happy right now.

Hooray!! Is that your top school?

Sweet! I've been looking at possibly going to UB, but for the life of me I can't find a list of required/recommended high school courses that would help me get in.

There really aren't any in particular, but it wouldn't hurt to take as many AP courses as possible or stuff that pertains to your major. That goes for any school.

Also, if you score well on your SATs and have above a 90% overall average, you'll be considered for their Provost scholarship which starts at a minimum of $2500 per year.

It was weird because in my letter it said "Your request for admission to the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences has been declined. The specialized nature of the curriculum requires particularly strong preparation in technical areas such as math, chemistry, and physics in order to succeed."
I was like :? Is this what I get for not taking physics this year? I must have put something in wrong when I applied, because bioinformatics is not in that school anyway.

It doesn't matter since I don't plan on going there, but it just seemed weird for that to be in your acceptance letter. :|

I know a few other people who applied to UB this year and got the same message, even though they didn't apply to EAS. They still got into the university though.

But all the people I know who applied for engineering got in.

I think something went wrong with the admissions process this year. I'd give them a call. Did they indicate that you did not get accepted to the university at all?

I love the weekends because they enable me to start watching a movie at 3:30 in the morning... with other people, not alone.

Additionally, how terrible a person I am is fascinating. I could write a book on the topic.

I found the album Sides, of which the cover is my current avatar, online for $4. My intent is to frame the jacket for my impressive LP collection display.

I feel just like a giddy little school girl.......

I got a new letter in the mail the next day that said said I was accepted to UB, and mentioned nothing about the engineering school. 8-)

I ate fish sticks today. So proud of myself. That was the first time in years. I got over my aversion to Ramen last year. That had been years, too. When you eat the same three meals rotated for lunch/dinner for years when you're little, you tend to gag when presented with them once that period is over.

and portland's streak is ended. they couldn't hold on, and mancari couldn't get the puck up and shot it at the fallen goalie.

It's odd to have friends that are all about relationships and being close to people and sharing yourself and all that jazz when you just... don't... care. :? Or can't care, as it were. They want promises that we'll always be in touch and I'm like, "Weeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllll.........." I feel like they're blind to actual life and how people grow apart all the time. Or die or something. Things happen.

Plus if I let someone get to where I actually feel like they know a part of me, BYE BYE. You get too close and know too much and I regret it, then you're gone the end. Sooo, yeah, we're probably not always going to be friends, and if we are you never really knew me anyway, so feel happy or whatever if I shared enough with you to stop trying to contact you and ignore you when you try to contact me at some point. I've explained this to some of my friends, hoping that they'd realize they're not as close to me as they think they are. Nooope. Instead it's more like, "Oh, that'll never happen! You won't do that!" Uh.

We'll see what happens. Don't be all... girly... with me. :P

It just seems so silly because we're all just young adults, basically 20-25, and it's... Ummm. What happens if I end up in California after graduating and you're in Ohio? And a lot of them are engaged, and I'm like... After you guys get married and have kids while you're in the midst of paying off student loans, that's it anyway. Everybody will be stressed all the time and just won't... Yeah. Wutevar.
