Well in all fairness, you're really not doing outside sales. People come to you to buy stuff. When I work for him I have to do outside sales, I have to network and market the product all on my own. Making commission would be nice at best buy, but it's more of customer service rather than sales.

For example with this last contract, they contacted us, we had to bid, come up with a concept for them, install, and maintain the system. The only reason I'm making such a large commission on this sale was that we came in about $7,200 under budget. Knocked 2,000 off the quoted price, and pocketed the rest. It's very rare that happens, but my dad and I basically split the profit on that, plus my normal % on the sale. He doesn't do that with his other two sales agents, but for me, it's a little different story, since I am after all his son.
