The wildcat isn't an original idea at all, it's run in college football all the time with teams without a QB or receivers.

The only reason it has made it's way in the NFL is because Miami has sucky receivers, good QB but last year they didn't have a good QB at all.

It's a high school football formation, from West Genessee High School which is near me. One of the Miami offensive coaches used to coach at West Genny here.

Who knows who originally started it, but Pro's never used it until the Panthers first used it by Dan Henning, who is now OC of Miami.

It's not exactly a new type of formation.

Well on wiki it says they don't truly know who first started using it, they said it is possible it came from them, or it was started in College, but no definite source as to where it came from.
