although it's not the coaches fault, perhaps a change is in order to shake the team up...

you can't fire the team...

You can't blame them, and I totally understand why we paid him....but right now I'd easily take those 1st rounders. Easily.

I agree, except the time to make that change was this morning. :)

I'm not one of the crazy Darcy haters, but if this slide continues, paired with a 1st round playoff exit, I think that the guy has to go.

Ryan Smith was the highest goal scoring free agent that year with 35...would you really want Ryan Smith over Thomas Vanek? That was our only option; thats assuming he would have come here...it's not as simple as just getting a FA, they have to want to come here.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but keep in mind, aside from this year, Vanek has always scored 35+ goals, except for his rookie year

no i would not have wanted ryan smith....in hindsight though....they should have let him go to the oilers....then sign a big name free agent the following year
