Courtesy of ESPN.com:

"CANTON, Ohio -- Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith headline the preliminary list of modern-era nominees for induction next year in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The list released Saturday includes 131 players, coaches and contributors.

Hall of Fame selectors will chose 25 semifinalists by Nov. 27, and 15 finalists by Jan. 7.

Voting will take place Feb. 6, the day before the Super Bowl.

Other modern-era nominees include Tim Brown, Herschel Walker, Cris Carter, Andre Reed and Sterling Sharp. Former commissioner Paul Tagliabue is also on the list.

They join two previously announced senior nominees, former Detroit Lions cornerback Dick LeBeau and former Denver Broncos running back Floyd Little."

It's gonna be tough for Andre Reed for a while...how many years does he have left for eligibility?

Indefinite, but I think you have to be nominated or something.

The hall is stupid. There's only one special teamer in there and a disproportionate number of linemen. Blasphemy.

The Bills special teams since 1990 needs to be inducted. For real, the Bills have ridiculously awesome special teams. Like, forever.

Bobby April (I know I got the last name right, not so sure about the first) is a special teams genius, HE should go in the hall of fame.

Bobby April was hired as a direct result of the Home Run Throw Forward.

Jerry Rice & Emmitt Smith are no brainers so they'll get in. I would love to see Gary Anderson get in along with Steve Tasker cause hey Special Teams is a big part of the game. Phil Simms might get a nod as well.
