I've had my HTC Hero for a couple months now, and i'm curious how I ever managed to live without it.

Ok, not really, but it is fucking insanely perfect. Honestly, I have zero complaints with this phone, and it is still surprising me in new ways. From the ultra-customization, (including custom ROM's if you're willing to Root your phone) to the plain old intuitive use and feel of it. Bluetooth (A2DP for music to wireless headphones), file manager, FTP/Bluetooth transfer from phone to PC, automatic pickup of wireless signals, GPS, great browser, facebook/twitter/youtube apps stock, ringtones made out of any song on my phone, etc etc etc. it's freaking sweet. And on sprint, i'm paying 70/month for unlimited data and texts, and about 200 more talking minutes than I ever use a month.

I don't get why you guys are bashing ATT really, I've never lost signal with my phone, even when I went to NYC. I'm not on the West coast which could also be a different factor really since almost anywhere on the East I get signal.

The only time I can't get a signal is in certain buildings made out of certain materials. I had signal even in the old town I used to live in fine, and such.

I still want an iPhone since I'm not as happy with my BB anymore, tends to have a bit of lag receiving texts from certain people.

one of the biggest problems AT&T has is the band width, they simply just don't have enough to accommodate all the iphones and smart phones out there. they need to bump that up and things will be even faster.

plus this is an interesting thing between the commercials. Verizon bashes AT&T on lack of availabilty, whle AT&T bashes verizon on speed, yet neither company is out there saying hey we have just as much availability or we have just as much speed. if they'd fix the problems they wouldn't get bashed on it. It just seems dumb to me. maybe it makes sense, i dunno.

The ONLY time I run into trouble with AT&T's bandwidth is at concerts. Concerts choke the shit out of my cell signal.

All I do is turn 3G off and use the edge network, and I'm good to go again.

I work with 2 people that traded in their iPhones to go back to blackberries on the Verizon network.

AT&T is that bad in LA.

I actually just ditched my Storm for a 8530 Curve, and I'm really glad I did. Smoother scrolling, no freezing, faster processing, and physical keyboard FTW.

i like my storm, i just wish the OS wasnt so clunky. blackberry makes a good product. but with the marketshare they get, 40 some odd percent, you would think they would strive to put the best product out there.

as it stands, i really like the nexus one, but i still have 8 months to go. lotta things can change in 240 days.

You have to take RIM's business model into consideration.

Their primary target consumer is a business person usually in a large corporation. The iPhone didn't even try to compete with BB until they added enterprise exchange support.

My BB 8830 doesn't even have a camera...it's a business phone.

In business, a camera is pretty necessary sometimes.

How am I supposed to quickly get photos of my product to customers without a built in camera?

Use a real camera that doesn't take shit pictures. :) I don't think I've ever seen a really good photo I'd want to send to a client taken from a cell phone, and I automatically exclude my iPhone from that consideration. It's camera sucks.

In a lot of businesses...cameras are prohibited.
Any manufacturers with trade secrets.
Any contractor that does government work etc.

Go out and try to find another manufacturer that makes a phone without a camera ;)
