Darcy says shit that just makes sense.

I think that this team is close. We all agree that there are a couple moves that need to be made... and that doesn't mean that Darcy isn't going to make them this offseason.

Give it a listen:

You think someone passed on my forum posts to Darcy. I've been on 3 forums posting in CAPS his incompetents :P

Oh, and lets not forget the Buffalo News, Yahoo, Sports Daily, Etc....Etc.......no shit PSP, I was posting all over the place to fire him, and 90 percent of the time or more all the other posters were agreeing with me. lol

Darcy says shit the fans want to here, his record speaks for itself, an epic failure on a 12 year scale and counting.

I knew youd give into Darcy's reasoning.. Youve been too negative lately, well too negative for an optimisticly optimistic person like you..

He hasn't been a total failure on a 12 year scale, Slesh. Lots of playoff appearances, some of them late rounds, and since the lockout, we're in the top 5 in wins in the NHL.

Has he made some mistakes? Sure. But he definitely learned his lesson with the Briere/Drury incident, which was his biggest blunder.

I'm too tired to type the rest. Fuck it. We'll see how this season, and next season, turn out.

Well, my vendeta against Darcy is a one on one thing. But I will say this PSP, I am really rooting for the players we do have. Every game I watch I hope a couple of them snap out of it and play to an exceptional level. I'll always be that I guess. But, I can dream about a Stanley Cup, like I have since I was a little boy, and maybe someday, this team will make it happen. Until then, there are games to be played, a playoff spot to secure.....................then I want to see these troops redouble their efforts and put on a display, BRING THEIR A GAME, out of pure excitement of being in the playoffs.

I pin all of my hopes and dreams this season on one player, one man that will lead this team when the playoffs arrive. And he will bring his game face, that much we already know, RYAN MILLER!!!

1 Stanley Cup Finals appearance.
4 Conference Finals appearances.
6 playoff appearances. (On track for #7.)

This is not an epic failure of a GM. He's made some questionable moves and player decisions, and deserves criticism for them, but he's far from an 'epic failure'.

Very true.. I mean, if you make the conference finals every 3 years, that's pretty damn good.. And if the moves he made in the past few years were so bad, wed be at the bottom of the league rigth now, not 3 points from 2nd in the East...

It's not even a failure, much less epic..

12 seasons - No Cup = Failure.
I mean, really, I try to be upbeat, but you don't get anything for 2nd best.

Technically, your chances of winning a cup are 1/30.

Does that mean he needs 30 years as a GM until he can be graded fairly? :D :D :P :P

It's not really Darcy's fault we didn't win the cup in 06.. Do you remember those injuries to our D by game 7 in the ECF?

That's the way I look at it.. And you should go to the ECFs every 15 years.. But Darcy's done it 4 times in 12 years

Does this make him a great GM then?

I consider a successful GM to make the playoffs consistently, and to go deep into said playoffs more often then not. Great GM's build cup winners, but there are only a hand full of those around the league.

At least we aren't the Leafs.

Even though Darcy has not won a cup he is not a failure, of course we'd all love to see a cup every year, but Hockey teams are cyclic anyways. They go from making the playoffs for years, then they stop for a few also.

There are exceptions, but even Detroit isn't the powerhouse they were, their team is getting older and their best players are about to retire.

Darcy also had to deal with some pretty shitty ownership and rough years during these 12 we're discussing.
