Might be a dumb question. But some of you guys have one of those animated ".gifs" as an avatar. How do you make them??? What do you need to do this???

The hard way is a frame by frame process with gif animation software.

The easy way involves either free software or I believe there are even free sites that will convert a mpeg video to animated gif.

Do a google search for "convert mpeg to animated gif" and you'll get pages of ways to do it.

Go figure. First "mpeg to gif" software file I download contains a fucking trojan. I think my Kaspersky caught it because it responded right away and deleted that fucking fuck of a file but I don't know for sure 'til the scan is finished. That crap is pissing me off.

I made mine, but I can't for the life of me remember the trial program I used.

Photoshop can make them easily also, that would be a frame by frame deal, but if you want to take a clip and make a gif of it, just google search it for the converter.

SUPER will convert a video to gif. It's freeware and actually quite good, although the download link is difficult to find on their site.
