Still no suspension? WTF is going on Bettman & Campbell don't let the door hit you.

Can't believe people talking about Crosby not being hurt. If the douchebag would have succeeded you can bet Crosby would be out for months and never ever be the same.

Not intentional? Its Steve Downie, everything that douchebag does is intentional.

It wasn't intentional. The knee on knee was intentional not the twisting and falling. Although I'm sure he doesn't care that he fell on it.

Ohh for sure. Downie has never cared about anyone but himself. When he was 18 years old he was apart of rookie hazing in Windsor, real class A douchebag.

What was this rookie hazing I've heard about with Downie. I don't what he did.

What was this rookie hazing I've heard about with Downie. I don't what he did.

Quote:
Downie was selected in the first round, 29th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. Not long after being drafted, Downie was suspended for five games early in the 2005–06 OHL season for on-ice altercations with a teammate during practice. Downie blindly cross-checked and then fought teammate Akim Aliu during practice on September 28, knocking out three of Aliu's teeth. [1] The incident stemmed from 16-year-old Aliu's refusal to take part in a hazing incident, which involved rookies being forced to stand naked in a cramped bus bathroom. The team suspended Downie for five games and Aliu for one, and Downie was told to undergo professional counseling. Head coach Moe Mantha was suspended by the OHL and later fired by the team, and the team was fined $35,000 by the OHL. [2] Downie left the team and requested a trade, and was eventually traded from the Windsor Spitfires, going to the Peterborough Petes in exchange for Peter Aston.

Yep. It's part of the reason HockeyCanada never looked at him for the WJC's. One of the rookies was keith hamilton the goalie who happens to be the son of Bruce Hamilton the president and GM of the Kelowna Rockets who is also on the selection committee for the WJ invites.

And all of the Windsor fans loved Downie for doing that and hated Aliu, they mostly thought he was to blame for all of this crap Downie caused while in Windsor.

Sure it was a dirty play but that little punk was rolling around like a damn soccer player.
If Downie deserves a suspension, Crosby deserves an Oscar.

Crosby may have embellished it but what could have happened would have been catastrophic, he shouldnt be overlooked just because the situation didnt go all bad.

How can you embellish a slew foot? Please tell.

The rolling on the ground is mostly what he meant.

He could have, but at that time I'm sure hit knee hurt and felt like something really was wrong.

If his MCL/PCL/ACL was torn Crosby would not be the same player he once was.

That was disgusting, and I don't want to see that on anyone. I HATE Sidney Crosby, but this is dirty. Downie needs to sit for a long, long time. But then again, so did Cooke and Richards, we'll see what the brain trust comes up with here.

With Crosby being the poster boy of the NHL, I fully expected this incident to be looked at 9238947983475639845623 times.

I'm very surprised it hasn't been.

I keep saying that nobody saw it, it happened so early and out of the way that nobody really seemed to notice.

Please see my comments and thoughts that I've posted in the thread about Ovi's BS 2 game suspension. Downie shouldn't have even been allowed to get off the ice. PLAYERS LIKE THIS NEED TO BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE PLAYERS.

I hate Crosby, but if he's to get injured, do it legally. That was pretty fucked up what Downie did, he should at least get 5 since Crosby was able to play.
