I wonder if there are repercussions for not disclosing injuries on a traded player......

There should be. Rest him for the playoffs while we wrap up the division.

It may have been disclosed and Darcy decided that it wasn't that much an issue

It's a phrase that basically means, if you wanna see the Sabres at the top, turn the rankings.

We gave up MacArthur.....um...do you think he'd have done ANY better in seven games than 2 assists? Not to mention, Mac's played as a Sabre for a long time and still couldn't put up points. Torres was an upgrade. He plays hard, and as far as I can tell, he shows up every shift. A great upgrade over Mac.

Technically we gave up Paetsch for him, but I understand your point. I don't know...I always liked Paetsch and I knew that a trade was the right thing for both Nathan and the Sabres, but I was still a little bummed when I found out he was moved.

That's BS, if true. Columbus would get in huge trouble.

Um...I hate MacArthur and I was preaching for him to get traded. He wasn't dealt for Torres though, Paetsch and a 2nd rounder was. Trading Mac - good...trading for Torres - not good if he's going to be 1) hurt and not able to play well (I didn't know this when I started the thread) 2) playing 3rd/4th line minutes even if healthy 3) not producing no matter where he plays.

Mac could've been replaced by a plastic Chexx Hockey figure and nobody would notice, but Torres isn't doing enough right now (regardless of why) to justify the 2nd rounder, especially when we already know he's a rental. Mancari or Ennis could've been called up permanently to replace Mac and Darcy could've kept the 2nd rounder for an off-season trade that would get a player that's going to stick around for a few seasons. It's not a HUGE loss, as Phil and others have stated that we still have a 2nd rd pick anyway, but with cap room to work with this summer a better player under long term contract could be acquired with that 2nd rounder plus player/prospect.

If Torres was traded while injured and the Sabres didn't know it until after the fact, Columbus will be in deep shit.

If Torres was traded while injured and the Sabres knew about it but ignored it and didn't make mention of it, then Darcy Regier, WTF?

Whatever. As long as the team keeps playing well.

We didn't give up much for Torres, and he could still end up an asset. His time here isn't spent.

That said, I won't be heartbroken if he's a bust.

Slesh, there's no way that roster gets put together. Mancari and Ennis could both make the team, but they won't be put on a line with Kennedy unless Lindy wants to see them all in the minus-30 range. Gerbe and Gragnani won't make the team, and they may never make it.

Grier or Ellis will be kept unless another 3/4 line gritty player is signed. A quality vet d-man will almost have to be signed unless Tallinder or Lydman will stay at a discount (because they aren't worth resigning at their current salaries). I would expect something more like...

Vanek - Roy - Stafford
Hecht - Connolly - Pominville
Kennedy - Gaustad - Grier
Ellis - Ennis - Kaleta
Mancari - McCormick

Weber - Myers
(FA d-man) - Montador
Butler/Sekera - Rivet
Sekera/Butler

Torres still provides much needed grit over Mac when the playoffs happen for us.

And we lost a guy who deserved to play who had sat in the press box for a majority of his career with us.

I hope to see Patchs flounder and become a quality 3/4 guy on any team.

Your last sentence is contradictory, unless you accidentally substituted "flourish" with "flounder".

You, I realized it afterwords, and just was like whatever, they get what I meant, and someone will point it out.
