He starts off by saying it he didn't mind a good effort to make fun of Buffalo, but didn't think that attempt was very inspired. After Whitey mentioned that the editor apologized for it, he got pissed. Said the article wasn't even worthy of a response, let along people getting mad about it. Said he was disappointed in the journalism school would do that.

Jeremy goes on to point out that it bothered people because Buffalo was the host, not Mizzou's opponent, and that's why it rubbed folks the wrong way. (I agreed with this.)

Sully says that part of mission of the school is to teach people about freedom of the press, and the right to be stupid. If he was still there, he would be organizing a protest against the school because they apologized publicly for something in their paper, which they shouldn't have done unless it was slanderous. He then says that by doing this, the Missouri Journalism School is showing why the newspaper business is hurting.
