Maybe true, but the BlackBerry Enterprise Server makes me want to punch kittens and babies.

Personally, I enjoyed BES while I had it. You could be in a much worse position, you know, like all of your clients running desktop redirector.

An alternative is that you could set up OWA and then mail out directions for users to connect their BB using the OWA creds. (that's what we had to do at an accounting firm I worked for; corporate wouldn't stand up a BES, they would only support iPhone and Windows Mobile clients).

Thankfully I don't have one to admin anymore. A client at my last job had a fucked up mish mosh of an environment, and used to break their BES all the time in ways that I couldn't even fathom to be possible.

I had to make mine work with Exchange 5.5 on Server 2000.... ;)

I go to the mat with management so I don't have to ever run a user facing email server.

It's always a pain in the butt. We outsource our exchange and BES...it's probably cheaper too.

Unless you're running a healthy VM environment, I would too.

(Then again, I just put together a 100k proposal for a new lab :P )
