I hope Gerbe will make me feel the same way during his time up here.

I totally agree that Ennis should never play another game in Portland he was ready to be up full time right in the middle of the season and wasn't called up. It should be interesting since a guy like Stafford should get a nice good swift kick in the ass to pick up his production now that Vanek's out. These finally few weeks of this season should be interesting with this tiny lineup.

I think I'd rather have Mancari over Gerbe taking into consideration how good he looked during his last call up. Also, Mancari would be some added size to help on the forecheck. Hopefully Gerbe makes me forget all these thoughts and plays hard and contributes.

I'm kinda thinking the same thing about Mancari over Gerbe to add some size to this lineup. But for the most part Gerbe was very close to making this team fulltime in training camp so he's worthy of this chance. It should be interesting to see these final weeks play out with a few forwards on the smallish side.

Hey, look at it this way. We're locked into a playoff spot. If these injured guys aren't on the ice and will heal in a week or 2, thats less of a chance of them getting an injury right before the playoffs start. It gives them some rest and healing time for other nagging little injuries they've accumulated. Anyway, it will be good to see the young guys showing their all so if we have injuries during the playoffs we know who is the right call up.

Until I see something in the Portland Press-Herald or the MHJ, I don't believe a word about call-up rumors.

I'll change the title of the Post.
But your right, and I too am awaiting the official word, both on a call up and the extent of time Vanek is going to miss.

Who were these sources you speak of? Was it the voices in your head telling you that Vanek's injury could be more than 2 weeks and Gerbe is called up?

Why the sarcastic hate rhetoric? I happen to know some people in Portland that are directly connected to the team. I have been to Portland a few times this year and I have family that lives their.

What do you want, a resume from these individuals? Or are you so blinded by the "Pffft" attitude that you just don't like a post like this? Let me know what "your requirements" are for a rumor. LOL, that is just funny to even say it.

So, WGR and the Lindy himself in his post game said that Connolly and Vanek will have to be evaluated, but I'm pretty sure I said atleast 2 games, but being a rumor, it could be 1 game, who knows, I'm not up to speed on what the injuries even are at this time.

Well, now I am confounded.
I am listening to the Pirates broadcast while working today and I hear the announcer state this:
"Gerbe and Mancari are not playing today, both are enroute to the big club, the Sabres"

Now, I looked on the Pirates site for the line up and the AHL site, Gerber and Mancari are not in the line up. I need a second party to confirm this.

Glad to see Gerbe didn't get the call over Ennis. Personally, I think Ennis has officially passed Gerbs on the Top Prospect Depth Chart. I would be shocked if this kid didn't make the big club outta camp next year. He CLEARLY has NHL ready talent, never seems to be outta position, and unlike Gerbe, when he gets the call up, he contributes and doesn't seem lost as ( Gerbe so often does.) Kid could turn out to be a pretty big steal at 26th overall if he continues on the path he seems to be on.

Miller's our best steal ;)

Yep, I am getting word that both Gerbe and Mancari are on their way to the Sabres.
I really need a confirmed article or press release from either the Pirates or the Sabres.

But the game announcer for the Pirates is stating this is the case and neither Gerbe nor Mancari are in the line up for the Pirates today.

Any one have a second confirmation on this?

Thanks a bunch gssmvak.

Well, this is an interesting twist, I thought 1 call up, only heard about 1. But 2?
Wow, this will be an interesting game against Boston.

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

It'll be nice to see what they can do with some added pressure. This team, although locked in for the playoffs, is still fighting (albeit not too hard) for 1st in the division and a #2 seed in the east.
