Oh, so you choose who to field any given matchup based on who is actually playing IRL that night, and then you compile the stats to see who won? Sounds simple enough.

I was in a yahoo league last year but never did a draft. I didn't mind the auto draft option just because I am not able to be on the computer at specific times. I did some trades and ended up being in 10th out of 20 last season....not bad for my first time

Yeah, you'll set your lineup at the beginning of each week and it'll show who plays in what game for the week. Then at the end of the week, whoever wins a given stat category gets that win for the week. So with i think 10 categories, you'll be 7-3, 9-1, whatever on the week.

How many do we need to start league play? And does the draft have to occur before the regular season begins because that's in like three days! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOCKEYYYYYYYY!

we can have as many teams as we want and i decide when we draft (it would be wednesday night so we would have our team for thrusday. last i checked we have 7 teams. ideally i would want 8, or any even number so that there isnt a bye week.

I'll play, someone will have to help me though, never done it before.

we have a couple people that havent done this before. for right now, all you have to do is sign up and edit your draft rankings (if you want to. you can use the Yahoo ranks). After that just sit back until you get an email telling you your team has been drafted.

OK, so how many players do I draft? What's the point of editing my draft ranking? How many players at each position do I draft?

This is the confusing phase for me.

Phil:
The number of players at each position and total were decided by me when i created the league. if you go to your team page and look past the "edit your draft" thing you can see the positions i choose. i think its something like 3 C, 3 LW, 3 RW, 5 D, 3 G. You would edit your draft rankings if you want to try to get a certain player earlier or later in the draft. for example...the Yahoo rankings might have Ovi 1, Cosby 2, Malkin 3 and (for humor only) Max 4. When it came to your draft choice you would be given the first player (that was not previously selected) on your list. so in this case it you would get Ovi. however you would rather have Max over Ovi. you could edit your draft rankings and bump Max up.

Fan:
1-get a yahoo email address
2-go to yahoo sports
3-click on fantasy sports
4-go down to hockey and click on it
5-go to Join a League
6-Enter the League ID and Password (supplied on page 1)
7-Go through all the registration stuff
8-you have just joined the league
----From here, if you wanted to edit your draft rankings (see my answer to phil) you go to your team page and from there i think its pretty simple.
