Monkeys flinging poo is about how I would characterize the GOP opposition to health care reform. They had a chance to make real, substantive contributions to the final bill, but they choose to fling poo and then blame the Democrats because the final bill smelled like shit.

This isn't my opinion. It is the opinion of David Frum, conservative journalist and former speech writer for George Bush (go to the 7:30-13:30 mark for his clip from the Colbert Report; 10:15 for his comments on how the GOP screwed up on health care; the DNA of this bill is Republican - 12:00 minute mark). My favorite line by Frum: "We in the Republican Party thought that FOX news worked for us; now we find out that we work for FOX."
