Michael Steele and the RNC have once again showed why Americans voted against the Republican Party in 2008. They are a party of bumblers and hypocrits.

After spending nearly $2,000 at a bondage club in Hollywood (love those family values), the GOP followed up by sending out a fake-census-Republican-fund-raising letter that listed for its phone number an 800 sex line.

Recently, these guys have done a pretty good job doing what they do best: using half-truths, disinformation, and outright lies to tear down their opposition and frighten Americans. Since they have no real ideas of their own, this is the usual Republican strategy for victory and is the only way Republicans can get elected in this country. If they ran a race purely on ideas they would lose everytime. The real brilliance is the way they run against the very problems they created after eight years of controlling the White House and six years of controlling Congress.

"Barack Obama has not fixed the mess we created - put us back in charge!"

Sheer tactical genius.

Yet, in spite of their victories on the propaganda front, and the generally weak economy that has so many Republicans gleeful about the next election (a terrorist attack would have been a GOP wetdream, but a weak economy is the next best gift they can hope for), they can't help but show the true depths of their incompetence. They manage to find one black Republican to head up their national committee and now that he has turned out to be a colossal failure, they have to stick with him because they can't be seen as firing, for the first time in their history, the head of the Republican National Committee, especially because he is a black (I love how the GOP has tied itself a noose with its very own version of affirmative action).

Yeah, I want these guys making budgetary decisions, because they have such a proven track record.

The reports I read said he was in a bondage club which is untrue.
He is and always has been an ineffectual leader. I think he's out of touch and wasting the inherent enthusiasm which exists on the right at this point.

You're not going to get me to defend him.

Although the initial reports said it was Steele at the bondage club, all of the reputable reports that I read after the first day were accurate in stating that the line item only appeared on the expense report, and Steele wasn't there.

It's a waste of money to be sure, although I wouldn't be surprised if some Dems had done similar things in the past to be honest.

Good Answer No Politician is not corrupt.

I don't necessarily believe this to be the truth. There are elements withing both parties that hold these beliefs with value, however, it must be made clear that the reason the Republicans control the Heart Land is due to thier ability to formulate a plan based on a successful election, that often includes candidates with these beliefs.

Thats about as far as it goes though, Republicans from Texas, California, New York and several other more centered states actually entertain at these types of places and in some cases on a regular basis. Now I call that a Healthy Candidate, just another form of Health Care to me.
