CH future looks bleak for Sergei Kostitsyn

"Sergei Kostitsyn's days as a Canadien might be over.

Head coach Jacques Martin decided the younger Kostitsyn was more trouble than he was worth when he decided to send him to the Hamilton Bulldogs on Sunday.

The decision was made shortly before the Canadiens left Montreal to wrap up their training camp with a three-day session at Teen Ranch in this rural community northwest of Toronto and it came as a surprise only because Martin said he wouldn't release any players until this phase of the camp concludes tomorrow.

"I think you have to reach a point sometime where it's not words, it's action (that's needed) to deliver a message," Martin said.

"In Sergei's case, we have expectations, we had objectives that were laid out and it's important for the players to understand that we want them to respect that," Martin said. "We feel that he needs to work at his game. He needs to understand what's expected of a professional."

...They're dropping like flies, I tell ya. Why can't the Sabres assign underperforming players to the farm? Everyone else is doing it...

In the salary cap era, I think you'll start to see it happen more and more.

I bet Hank gets placed on waivers.

He is a baby, he did the same thing when he was reassigned to the Knights a few years ago. He sulked and didn't want to play then he was benched, then he decided to play and he tore the OHL up with Patrick Kane and Sam Gagner.
