To be honest it should be mandatory, where I work I deal with people all the time who just buy junk food and crap with their food stamps and they usually look pretty skanky. So naturally I would agree there should be some testing. What drives me nuts is that people will buy all this crap on foodstamps and then whatever it doesnt cover they have to pay up front, but they pull out like 100's out of their wallets and im like... really... you have 100's in your wallet but you cant pay for your food... ? ya right...

Ya, this shit needs to be put in check. People who just choose to not work can get free shit if they just apply and are applicable, which means under the dollar figure which is publicly known. I find it hard to believe that's more cost effective than actually having case workers who will dole it out more efficiently.

Ya if the government wanted to create jobs they should create a food bank for people with Wic Checks and Foodstamps, where people with these government aids should have to go to get this stuff. And it can be health food instead of junk and shit. I think that would be a simple solution right?

I like that idea, but then all you'd hear is "discrimination!" and "I can't get fried chicken?!" (okay, that last one was VERY bad, but I couldn't resist).

I'd also approve of "citizen" ID cards; EVERYONE has to have one, and if you don't, you get fined for not having it (a records check could be done via computer to see if you're a citizen...if there's no record, you get scooped up and taken to INS).

either way... there are obvious ways of improving things and they could work very well... but the government wouldnt do that... you know? those people with foodstamps would prolly complain about being told what they can and cannot eat... Course if we are being told which doctors we have to see, I dont see how food is any worse...
