I love my iPhone -- probably a stupid question, it's not going to effect those of us who already have coverage for it through AT&T, riiight?

I can understand if you hate the militant apple fanboys, so do I.

But I still own an iPhone, Macbook, and iMac. You can absolutely hate the assholes and still like the products.

Assuming this happens this year, there will 2 iPhone models.

The current GSM one , and a new CDMA one. AT&T (or Tmobile users who unlock it) will continue to use the GSM one, and Verizon users will use the CDMA one.

If you're with AT&T and want to go to Verizon, you'll have to get a new phone. Other than that, it won't affect you at all.

I've always been behind with the cellphone thing...I had the block Nokia when everyone had flip phones. Now I have a flip phone and everyone has they typewriter ones or whatever...

I would love for people on Verizon to experience the coolness, too.

The Iphone is absolutely essential to my on the fly business. It is well suited to and tailored for my firms needs. I would hope Verizon gets this done to create a competitive environment for the Iphone.

phil - I have a BB pearl, and *had* an iPhone. I can see myself going back to an iPhone, but right now, the BB is better for my needs. Having to toggle 3G on/off (to save battery life) is ridiculous to me - without an expanded battery pack, I don't think I'd do it again. I suppose you can leave 3G off, and just turn it on when you need it, but still, just not my cup of tea at the time.

If Apple were to do that they would be stupid to just give Verizon the latest and greatest.

If it happens, it gets released to both networks the same day, AT&T would shit bricks if Verizon got the better one.

But why would Apple be that stupid to do that in the first place?

If Apple releases two phones for AT&T and Verizon, they'll be identical except for the radios. No doubt in my mind about that.

Either way, AT&T will lose about 25% of their iPhone customer base as soon as they have the option to jump to Verizon.

Same reason iphone isn't on Verizon.

You are not alone. I got a blackberry last July in Canada (obviously) on Bell, then Bell decided to get the iPhone in the fall . Now I am stuck on a 3 year contract with my Blackberry
