I can't say anything really affects me... In real life, outside the internet world, I am regularly misunderstood and people have the wrong impression of me all the time... There's a reason I've been using this avatar on every message board I've posted on since I was twelve, and it's not because I enjoy being weird or whatever. After enough confrontations that are just "What is going on?" all over the place and being misunderstood and insulted and called a liar and made to feel inferior enough times, you get used to it haha. There are very few people whose opinions of me I genuinely care about. I care about what family thinks only because of the rift it would cause if I didn't, for example (irl I HATE interpersonal conflict and am the most ridiculously avoidant person ever).
I guess nothing about it surprises me all that much, because I've seen it so. many. times, and people do it in pretty much every discussion. I've described the thought processes and the ideals and values behind the kind of thing they're doing to everybody else many times here, and each time I made it clear that I have great contempt for it all. It's always interesting to me when I say these things right off the bat only to later watch those I've spoken them to do the exact things that just... thought errors all over the place, straight up making stuff up, inconsistency, polarization of thought, irrational behavior, black-and-white thinking, putting people into boxes and therefore hurting them, etc. I find all of this more interesting than anything else because it is the
perfect example of
everything I most despise about the thinking processes and subsequent behavior of most.
Oh my goodness, that was douchey. lol Oh well.
