With all the negative going around here lately, I thought it would be nice to salute Squanto, SATW and Crosscheck (even if he serves more as an admin than a mod).

I have always thought a good balance between several differing opinions and demographics is key, young/old, liberal/conservative, strict/laid back, etc. I think here we've done a good job of reaching and maintaining that balance.

I feel like everyone is heard, and no one is undeservedly chastised or censored.

the ban button just gives the appearance of 'power' and 'authority'. A mom with the only set of car keys can accomplish the same thing--in different circumstances.

well, that was like...one week of tension because of Schoney and Squanto having at it...but after that it feels like everythings been fine. Or maybe i'm just not tuned into the negativity at the moment.

i think we should get a 4th mod. maybe even a 5th.

I think four is a solid number, with Crosscheck having admin duties, and being a tiebreaking vote if any major issues should occur. Crosscheck has done an admirable job with this board and has generally stepped back as a mod, I'm just a little leery of any one person having too much power.

I've floated the idea of relinquishing all my mod duties to the other mods before (including Schony).
I don't want perceived "power" and I don't want this place to seem like some sort of dictatorship.
I'm just some asshole with a server.
