There's some extra guess work depending on the status of Stafford and Lydman. There might be one or two extra players on the opening night roster, so I'll put them in parentheses just in case...

If Stafford can't play then find a spot for Kennedy. If Lydman can't play then Paetsch should replace him and let Hank watch.

Lindy made some pretty harsh comments about Tallinder's play after he sucked goat balls against Totonto in the preseason finale. I wouldn't be surprised to see him as a healthy scratch even if Lydman can't go.

This could be telling...

Buffalo News: Kennedy spent Tuesday's practice centering Clarke MacArthur and Jason Pominville. Derek Roy and Tim Connolly traded off centering Thomas Vanek and Gerbe, with Roy spending some time at the wing. No one was reading too much into that but there's no question that Kennedy made a big impact in the preseason.

It would be a pleasant surprise to see Kennedy remain on the team, for the beginning of the season, at least.

Now, let's hope that there isn't any such conflict over retaining Myers, for the whole year.
