EAST
Washington vs. Montreal (season series tied at 5 pts each)
New Jersey vs. Philadelphia (3 pts - 10 pts)
Buffalo vs. Boston (6 pts - 8 pts)
Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa (4 pts each)

WEST
San Jose vs. Colorado (5 pts - 4 pts)
Chicago vs. Nashville (8 pts - 4 pts)
Vancouver vs. Los Angeles (6 pts - 3 pts)
Phoenix vs. Detroit (4 pts - 6 pts)

Washington - Montreal doesn't have a chance
New Jersey - NJ struggled against Philly during the season, but Broduer won't lose to Boucher
Buffalo - it will still be tough, but Buffalo will muster just enough offense
Pittsburgh - it will be close, but Ottawa is beat up at the wrong time

San Jose - too strong for Colorado
Chicago - Nashville will be stingy, but won't keep pace on the scoreboard
Vancouver - too much offense for LA
Detroit - playing their best hockey at the right time to end the Phoenix fairy tale

Idk if Buffalo will win. I have a bad feeling, but I still believe they will pull it off.
Eat it Montreal.

Caps in 4 because this team is too stacked
NJ in 7 because these teams are prtty even except in goal
Buffalo in 6  ;) because Boson has no scoring
Pittsburgh in 5 because I hate Ottawa :D

Avs in 7 because every year the sharks are 1 or 2 they seem to get bounced in the 1st round
Chicago in 5 because the Hawks have too much scoring
LA in 7 because see the sharks explanation
Phoenix in 7 because Detroit will run into a hot goalie in Bryzagalov

Washington in 4: Just too good of an offensive team to be shut down by Halak or Price.
Jersey in 6: Philly doesn't have the better goaltending, and Kovalchuk is going to be hot.
Buffalo in 5: Very low scoring team in Boston against an 8th ranked offense. Should be tight, but Miller seals the deal in this series.
Pittsburgh in 7: Hard fought out games, Crosby and Malkin should do just fine, but with losses from last year this goes to 7 games, Ottawa is much stronger then we think.

San Jose in 7: Long battle with Colorado as the Sharks choke away a few games, they blow them out in game 7 though.
Detroit in 6: Detroit got healthy at the right time, they rolled into the playoffs like the past two dominating teams before them. They run into a good team but take it to them in 6.
LA in 7: Long battle with the Nucks. Two very well balanced teams, LA squeaks it out in game 7.
Chicago in 5: Like Washington, lots of firepower and a well balanced defensive team, if their goaltending holds up, they beat Nashville easily.

EAST

Caps in 5 (way too much firepower)
Devils in 6 (defense too disciplined for Philly)
Sabres in 6 (Boston too weak offensively---but this is the hardest to pick 'cause Sabres offense is sooo streaky, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt)
Penz in 6 (Senz have been tough lately and the Penz have been sloppy, but nobody can say Pittsburgh doesn't know how to win under pressure. They do.

WEST

Sharks in 5 (Everybody expects them to choke---again. Not this time.)
Hawks in 6 (Nashville's good, but they're not as stacked as Chicago)
Vancouver in 5 (Team to beat outa the West)
Wings in 6 (It'll take 6 'cause no home ice)

Am I the only one who thinks San Jose might get upset?

Yeah the caps will only win by 4 goals a game instead of 6.

Do you mean emotionally, or numerically?

Or both?

OK, here goes...
Capitals (1) vs Canadiens (8) - Habs in six
Devils (2) vs Flyers (7) - Flyers in five
Sabres (3) vs Bruins (6) - Sabres in six
Penguins (4) vs Senators (5) - Penguins in four

Sharks (1) vs Avalanche (8) - Sharks in six
Blackhawks (2) vs Predators (7) - Blackhawks in five
Canucks (3) vs Kings (6) - Canucks in four
Coyotes (4) vs Red Wings (5) - Red Wings in six

Laugh all you want at me saying the Habs and Flyers will move on, and the Sharks won't choke, but when I'm right, don't hate either.

Both. I know the Sharks are good but last year they took Anaheim lightly and look what happened? I say if Anderson goes back to the eay he was at the start of the season Colorado might knock them out

I think this year they can make it past the Avs. Won't be surprised if they don't but I think they got lucky with this match-up.
