..and Rask keeps it a game. We'll be sharper next time. If Hecht is back Saturday that will create a bit more space in front of the net.

Hecht had another minor finger surgery and is out for weeks

Random side note; I thought if a player was impeded enough to warrant a penalty while going in for the empty net, it was an automatic goal. Did Grier not have a good enough chance for that, or does it have to be a clear shot, or what?

It has to be like, a definite goal. He was at the side, so it's not a goal. Damn close though.

He was two strides away from having a definite goal when he got held. Unless the blades fell off his skates, it was gonna be 3-1.

Whatever. We just won. I shouldn't be complaining about an empty net goal.

Winning the game is 100% of what we want today.

awesome game. my fears of rask were confirmed, but limited. buffalos offense played just well enough to win, and thats all that counts. rask played awesome. miller played well, he fought the puck some, and his rebound control... well, he had no rebound control. but his positioning was top notch, and thats what makes him one of the best. if buffalo plays like this all playoffs, its very likely they can make a run. im very happy all around, and the game played out exactly how i figured it would. hopefully miller gets his rebounds under wrap.

gotta understand boss. ive been a goalie a very long time. its my nature to critique and notice small things. im always trying to learn and notice things. i think im pretty spot on.

and as my favourite player, i can still be slightly critical of things, but i gave miller tons of kudos.

That wasn't directed at anyone. It's just been a while since Miller owned the goaltender statics, and that made me happy.

I'm in no place to critique goaltending. My experience consists of a few rounds of street hockey where I couldn't even drop into the butterfly so I just made nine out of ten saves with my stick and dove all over the place.

Ummmm every playoff game played so far, I mean all 6 that have finished have all ended up being one goal apart.

Rask kept it a game, but didn't every other team who lost by one goal?

3-2 Phx
5-4 Ott
3-2 Mtl
2-1 Col
2-1 Buf
2-1 Phi

Hmmmm, and tonight's Vancouver and LA game is about to go into OT, so it's going to be a one goal game also. So that will be all 7 games played will have been decided by one goal.

I like the game tonight but I have actually learned to be much calmer in playoff games and I do not know why.

Miller looked dialed in all game. I didn't think he looked shaky at all.

For about 25 minutes the Bruins looked like they had absolutely no interest in playing hockey. The Sabres absolutely took it to them in the first. Even in the second, I never really felt like the Bruins were a threat, even with the deluge of shots. There were a few close calls and good saves, but we had that down at the other end too.

The Plaza was fucking loud. That is all.

Watched the highlights, a few bounces or inches for both teams basically.

If Buffalo held the Bruins to 6 shots in the third, and really dialed in their hockey, great for them, and that is what the team needs to do.

I gave up trying to watch the game on the computer through a Canadian feed that was routed through Europe. The NHL network played it at 4am and I DVR'd it, so I will watch it tonight (I listened on WGR). I hope Versus is going to show some of the Sabres games and not just go with all Ovie and Crosby all the time.

If you have flash player installed, just go to justin.tv/theblanetwork4

He shows all Sabre games and they are of excellent quality.

He's actually up to tbn5 now; every time the NHL catches wind, he bumps up the number and starts a new feed ^.^

I knew he had 5 made, didn't know if 4 got banned yet.

I'm glad he does that too. I really wonder what he'll be at by the time the playoffs are over.
